A system includes a neural network module, a lane keeping assist (LKA) module, and a control module. The neural network module is configured to receive driver data, identify the driver, receive non-driver data, and generate a lane assist offset value specific to the identified driver based on the non-driver data and the driver data. The LKA module is configured to receive the lane assist offset value, receive vehicle data associated with one or more parameters of the vehicle while the vehicle is moving, the one or more parameters including a steering angle, a velocity, and a vehicle position between lane markings, and generate a steering angle control signal based on the received lane assist offset value and vehicle data. The control module is configured to control steering of the vehicle based on the generated steering angle control signal. Other example systems and methods are also disclosed.

Additionally, the method includes mapping a reduced visual gamut of the user via the host computer using the color perception response, and then commanding adjustment of user-specific color settings of the motor vehicle using the reduced visual gamut to thereby accommodate a color perception deficiency of the user.

The inputs include information about the EV and about one or more persons outside the EV. A current scenario is defined based on the inputs. Whether the current scenario matches a predefined scenario among a set of predefined scenarios is determined, and augmented audio output is produced according to the predefined scenario.

A system for indicating an operating mode of a motor vehicle having a vehicle interior and an operator seat arranged therein includes a rotatable steering wheel arranged inside the vehicle interior relative to the operator seat. The system additionally includes a light source configured to project a beam of light onto the back side of the steering wheel. The back side of the steering wheel is configured to capture the light beam and illuminate therewith the front side of the steering wheel to thereby generate a sensory signal indicative of the operating mode to a vehicle operator positioned in the operator seat. A motor vehicle employing the system for generating a sensory signal to a vehicle operator for indicating an operating mode of the vehicle is also disclosed.

The method further includes processing, by a processing device associated with the second vehicle, the image to extract the vehicle data about the first vehicle. The method further includes determining, by the processing device, a position of the first vehicle relative to a position of the second vehicle based at least in part on the vehicle data. The method further includes controlling, by the processing device associated with the second vehicle, the second vehicle based at least in part on the position of the first vehicle relative to the position of the second vehicle.

Systems and methods are provided in an autonomous vehicle for providing auditory guidance to a pedestrian. In one embodiment, a processor-implemented method in a vehicle for providing auditory guidance includes: identifying a desire to communicate with a pedestrian; determining a message to communicate to the pedestrian; calculating a travel path about which to make the pedestrian aware; positioning a directional acoustic device to project directional sound waves to a starting point of the travel path; modulating the message in the directional sound waves; and repositioning the directional acoustic device to project the directional sound waves with the modulated message along the travel path, wherein as the directional sound waves contact with a travel path surface the message is demodulated and a sound conveying the message appears to originate from and travel along the travel path.

A user-centric driving-support system for implementation at a vehicle of transportation. The system in various embodiments includes one or more vehicle sensors, such as a camera, a RADAR, and a LiDAR, and a hardware-based processing unit. The system further includes a non-transitory computer-readable storage device including an activity unit and an output-structuring unit. The activity unit, when executed by the hardware-based processing unit, determines, based on contextual input information, at least one of an alert-assessment output and a scene-awareness output, wherein the contextual input information includes output of the vehicle sensor. Contextual-assessment vehicle systems

Methods are provided for managing a passenger's interaction with an autonomous vehicle. The method identifies a passenger approaching an autonomous vehicle and activates a recognition signal that indicates pairing the passenger with the vehicle. As the passenger approaches, and entry point for the vehicle is identified. A recognition signal for the entry point is activated and the passenger is notified. As the exit point for the bride approaches, it is identified by the vehicle and in exit indicator is activated for the passenger. Any exit obstacles are identified by the vehicle and the passenger is notified. And exit indicator is activated for the passenger to provide notification of a safe to exit status from the autonomous vehicle.

System and method for providing enhanced passenger use of an autonomous vehicle

A system to provide alerts to guide visually-impaired passengers to a vehicle is disclosed. The system includes a passenger identification module that is configured to identify a passenger based upon sensor data received at an autonomous vehicle and a passenger proximity module that is configured to determine a distance between the passenger and the autonomous vehicle. The system also includes an alert module that is configured to generate an alert having an alert characteristic corresponding to the distance.
