A dual communication-interface facility monitoring and management system, the system including a multiplicity of facility monitoring\management devices, the devices including at least one of at least one facility monitoring sensor and at least one facility management device, the facility monitoring sensors being operative to monitor it least a part of a facility, the facility management devices being operative to manage at last part of the facility, a facility communication gateway operative to facilitate electronic communication between as local area network (LAN) associated with the facility and an a wide area network (WAN) external to the facility, and a dual communication-interface facility monitoring and management subsystem operative to communicate with each of the multiplicity of devices via at least one of a first multiplicity of communication protocols and to communicate with the facility communication gateway via at least one of a second multiplicity of communication protocols.

Dual communication-interface facility monitoring and management system and method

A dual communication-interface facility monitoring and management system, the system including a multiplicity of facility monitoring\management devices, the devices including at least one of at least one facility monitoring sensor and at least one facility management device, the facility monitoring sensors being operative to monitor at least a part of a facility, the facility management devices being operative to manage at last part of the facility, a facility communication gateway operative to facilitate electronic communication between a local area network (LAN) associated with the facility and an a wide area network (WAN) external to the facility, and a dual communication-interface facility monitoring and management subsystem operative to communicate with each of the multiplicity of devices via at least one of a first multiplicity of communication protocols and to communicate with the facility communication gateway via at least one of a second multiplicity of communication protocols.

A motion detector system including first and second pairs of pyro-electric elements, electrical interconnections between the pyro-electric elements in the first pair providing a first signal output and local temperature compensation for the elements in the first pair, electrical interconnections between the elements in the second pair providing a second signal output and local temperature compensation for the pyro-electric elements in the second pair, wherein the compensation for the first pair is independent of the compensation for the second pair, a housing enclosing the two pairs of pyro-electric elements and defining a window, only one of the pyro-electric elements in each pair viewing a motion detection field of view through the window, and a signal processor receiving the first and second signal outputs and providing an output indication of crossing the field of view by an object having a temperature different from the ambient in the field of view.

Motion detection systems and methodologies

A passive infra-red detector including at least three sub-detectors, each sub-detector being operative to receive infra-red radiation from a corresponding one of at least three sub fields-of-view, each sub field-of-view being exclusively defined by an optical element which does not define any other sub field of view, the sub fields-of-view being angled with respect to each other, adjacent ones of the sub fields-of-view being separated by a gap of no more than 30 degrees and at least one of the sub fields-of-view having at least one of the following characteristics: extending over no more then 45 degrees in azimuth; and including not more than three azimuthally distributed detection zones, and signal processing circuitry, operative to receive output signals from the sub detectors and to provide a motion detection output.

Passive infra-red detectors

An infrared motion detector including at least one infra-red radiation sensor, at least one radiation reflecting surface, operative to direct radiation impinging thereon towards the at least one infra-red radiation sensor and at least one coating layer, coating the at least one radiation reflective surface, which is substantially reflective to far infra-red radiation and which strongly absorbs at least one of visible light and near infra-red radiation, wherein the at least one coating layer includes black nickel.

Passive infrared detectors

A passive infrared detector assembly including a detector housing comprising a window transparent to far infrared radiation, at least one sensor sensitive to the far infrared radiation and disposed within the detector housing and an anti-masking subassembly, including at least one light guide having a serrated light aperture, the light aperture defining a plurality of teeth like portions and a plurality of grooves and being disposed close to the outside of the window, at least one infrared light emitter operative to emit near infrared radiation via the light aperture of the at least one light guide and a near infrared radiation receiver operative to receive radiation emitted by the at least one near infrared light emitter and to measure the level of received near infrared radiation and to provide a masking alarm signal upon detection of a predetermined change in the level of the received near infrared radiation.

A system and method for motion detection, useful, for example, in intrusion detection, access control, and energy management, including an incoherent detector, including at least one sensing element, operative to detect receipt of radiation having a wavelength between 0.05 mm and 10 mm from multiple fields of view, and a motion detector receiving an output of the incoherent detector and providing a motion detection output indicating receipt of radiation from an object moving between the multiple fields of view.

Motion detection apparatus employing millimeter wave detector

An improved infra-red lens array for use in a passive infra-red intrusion sensor, which maintains high detection capability for intruders moving in the middle and near field, and yet discriminates well between the movement of intruders and of pets in the near field. The upper part of the lens array is composed of at least one row containing convex lenses, operative to focus the far and middle field radiation of the area to be protected onto the detector of the sensor. The lower part of the array has at least one row containing cylindrical lenses, with their axes of symmetry aligned vertically, operative to focus infra-red radiation from the middle and near fields onto the detector. Each cylindrical lens focuses a vertical curtain of the protected area onto the infra-red detector. In order to ensure reduced sensor sensitivity close to the floor of the protected area, so as to provide pet movement discrimination, the cylindrical lenses are provided with spatially selective attenuation, so as to reduce their transmission factor as a function of the angle between the sensor and points on the floor.

Passive infra-red intrusion sensor

An infrared detector including a sensor which provides an output signal responsive to infrared radiation incident on a face thereof, and a diffractive optical element which directs a substantial portion of incident visible radiation away from the sensor and which has substantially no diffractive effect on incident infrared radiation.

Intrusion detector

An intrusion detector for supervising a region including a sensor which views a plurality of fields-of-view of the region and provides an output responsive to motion of an infrared radiation source between the fields-of-view, a first filter which provides a first filtered output based on a first, predetermined, detection pulse frequency range of the sensor output, a second filter which provides a second filtered output based on a second, predetermined, detection pulse frequency range of the sensor output and processing circuitry which receives the first and second filtered outputs and detects, in either or both of the filtered outputs, a sequence of detection pulses indicating an intrusion condition.
