A circuit for providing a dummy load includes first to fifth resistors, a comparator, and first to fifth electronic switches. When a power good signal from a power supply is at a low level signal, the first electronic switch is turned off. The second to fourth electronic switches are turned on. The fifth electronic switch is turned off. When the power good signal from the power supply is at a high level signal, the first electronic switch is turned on. The second to fourth electronic switches are turned off. The fifth electronic switch is turned off.

Circuit for providing dummy load

A power supply circuit includes a comparator, first to third electronic switches, a D-trigger, a power supply unit (PSU), and a complex programmable logic device (CPLD). When a voltage from the PSU is greater than a reference voltage, the first electronic switch is turned on. An electronic device connected to the first electronic does not receive power from the PSU. The second electronic switch is turned on. The third electronic switch is turned off. The D-trigger outputs a low level signal to make the CPLD control the PSU stop supplying power.

Power supply circuit

A control circuit for controlling a soft-start time of a DC power supply includes a digital potentiometer, a first drive circuit, and a controller. The digital potentiometer includes a first potentiometer. The first drive circuit includes a first driver, a first MOSFET, and a first charge capacitor. The first driver charges the first charge capacitor via the first potentiometer when the DC power supply is first switched on, and the first MOSFET is switched on to connect the DC power supply to the load when the first charge capacitor is fully charged. The controller regulates resistance of the first potentiometer to regulate a charge time constant of the first charge capacitor, enabling a gradual rise in voltage supplied, from approximately zero to full power, within a desired period of time.

Soft-start time control circuit

When there is a memory module mounted in a memory slot, a memory power circuit provides a voltage to the memory slot. First and second power pins of the memory slot are connected. A first electronic switch is turned on. A second electronic switch is turned off. A programmable logic controller (PLC) outputs a first control signal to the memory power circuit to output the voltage to the memory slot. When there is no memory module mounted in the memory slot and the motherboard is powered on, the memory power circuit provides a voltage to the memory slot. The first and second power pins of the memory slot are disconnected. The first electronic switch is turned off. The second electronic switch is turned on. The PLC outputs a second control signal to control the memory power circuit not to output the voltage to the memory slot.

Energy-saving circuit for motherboard

A power adapter includes a processing circuit converting mains power to another alternating current (AC) power or a direct current (DC) power, a first output outputting the converted AC or DC power, a sense resistor connected between the processing circuit and the first output for sampling current flowing through the first output and converting the sampled current to a sampled voltage, an amplifying circuit connected to the sense resistor for amplifying the sampled voltage, and a metallic oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET). A gate of the MOSFET is connected to the amplifying circuit. A drain of the MOSFET is connected to the first output through a first resistor and grounded through a second resistor. A source of the MOSFET is grounded. A node between the first and second resistors is connected to the processing circuit. The amplifying circuit makes the MOSFET work in a variable resistance region.

Power adapter

An electrical parameter detection device is configured for detecting electrical parameters of a peripheral component interconnect (PCI) connector including a plurality of power pins. The electrical parameter detection device includes a processor module, a first detection module, and a second detection module. The processor module continuously detects voltage values of electric potentials provided by each of the power pins of the PCI connector using the first detection module, and determines time sequences of the electric potentials according to the voltage values of the electric potentials. Furthermore, the processor module detects the amount of power provided by each of the power pins of the PCI connector using the second detection module.

Electrical parameter detection device for peripheral component interconnect devices

A power supply device for a solid state drive (SSD) inserted into a slot of a computer includes a number of voltage input contacts, a diode, a first voltage regulating module and a second voltage regulating module connected in series. The slot includes a number of voltage output contacts and a number of signal transmitting contacts. The voltage input contacts are connected to the voltage output contacts and selectively connected to the signal transmitting contacts. The voltage input contacts obtains an initial voltage from the slot from the voltage output contacts or the signal transmitting contacts. The first voltage regulating module boosts the initial voltage. The second voltage regulating module regulates the boosted voltage to a preset voltage. The diode prevents a voltage outputting from the voltage input contacts to the signal transmitting contacts.

Power supply device for solid state drive

A power matching system is applied to a central processing unit (CPU) power supply, which includes a power control chip to regulate the frequency of the signal applied to the CPU power supply. The power control chip includes a detecting pin. The power matching system includes a control unit and a control circuit. The control unit includes a platform controller hub (PCH) to obtain information concerning a CPU, a basic input output system (BIOS) to obtain a power rating of the CPU, and an integrated baseboard management controller (IBMC) to output a required signal to the control circuit according to the power rating established. The power control chip receives the required signal from the control circuit and regulates the frequency of the signal applied to the CPU power supply.

Power matching system

A power supply system provides power to a server cabinet, which includes a number of servers. A number of sockets, first and second electrical connecting portions, first and second through holes are arranged on a power connecting board. Each socket includes a first power pin connected to the first electrical connecting portion and a first ground pin connected to the second electrical connecting portion. A number of power interfaces, third and fourth electrical connecting portions, third and fourth through holes are arranged on a base. Each power interface includes a second power pin connected to the third electrical connecting portion and a second ground pin connected to the fourth electrical connecting portion. The base is electrically connected to the power connecting board when the first connecting element engages in the first and third through holes and the second connecting element engages in the second and fourth through holes.

Power supply system for server cabinet

A motherboard includes a central processing unit (CPU), a drive, and a voltage-state display system to display a voltage mode of the CPU. The voltage-state display system includes a power management chip, a first transistor, a second transistor, a first light emitting diode (LED), and a second LED. A first phase output terminal of the power management chip is connected to the first LED through the first transistor. A second phase output terminal of the power management chip is connected to the second LED through the second transistor. The LEDs indicate the voltage mode of the CPU.

Motherboard with voltage-state display system

A central processing unit (CPU) test system includes a CPU socket, a CPU core controller, and a CPU test device. The CPU core controller stores a start voltage message. The CPU test device includes a voltage detection pin, an analog to digital (A/D) converter, and a microcontroller. The voltage detection pin detects a voltage of an electronic device connected to the CPU socket. The A/D converter converts the detected voltage into a digital signal. The microcontroller controls the CPU core controller to output the start voltage to the CPU socket according to the digital signal. The microcontroller stores a predetermined start voltage message. The microcontroller reads the start voltage message after controlling the CPU core controller to output the start voltage, and determines whether the CPU core controller supplies the start voltage to the CPU socket by comparing the read start voltage message with the predetermined start voltage message.

A device to measure power consumption includes a processor connected to a central processing unit (CPU) and a memory module, a switch for setting the power measurement device to measure either the power supplied to the CPU or the power supplied to the memory, and a display to show the results of such measurements.

Power measurement device

A power supply circuit for a CPU (central processing unit) includes a CPU, a power supply, a plurality of voltage adjustment modules, a pulse width modulator, a plurality of resistivity selection modules, and a module management unit. The resistivity selection module includes an electronic switch, a first resistor, a second resistor, a third resistor, and a fourth resistor. When the CPU operates abnormally, the power supply circuit utilizes the resistors in the resistivity selection module as voltage dividers, thereby restricting MOSFET or other components to operate in a normal voltage range.

Power supply circuit for a CPU

A protection circuit includes first and second electronic switches. When a CPU socket does not contain a CPU, a signal pin of the CPU socket outputs a high level signal. The first and second electronic switches are turned on. A data transmitting line of a SMBus is connected to a digital integrated chip. The parameters of the digital integrated chip can thus be regulated. When the CPU socket contains the CPU, the signal pin of the CPU socket outputs a low level signal. The first and second electronic switches are turned off. The data transmitting line of the SMBus is disconnected from the digital integrated chip, to prevent damage to the digital integrated chip.

Protection circuit for digital integrated chip

An exemplary infrared control system includes an infrared control unit and a computer. The infrared control unit is capable of transmitting an infrared signal. The computer includes an infrared response unit, and the infrared response unit includes an infrared receiving circuit and a control circuit electrically connected to the infrared receiving circuit. The infrared receiving circuit is capable of receiving the infrared signal from the infrared control unit. Accordingly the control circuit is capable of processing the infrared signal from the infrared receiving circuit to generate a corresponding command signal to control the computer to power on/off or reset.
