Embodiments of the present invention provide a bandwidth adjustment method, a bus controller, and a signal convertor. The method includes: obtaining, by a bus controller, a first frequency and a first channel number; sending a bandwidth negotiation request carrying the first frequency and the first channel number to a bus controller of a first peer end to determine whether or not the bus controller of the first peer end is capable of controlling a physical component of the first peer end to receive data via a channel corresponding to the first channel number according to the first frequency; and receiving a negotiation result sent by the first peer end and controlling the physical component to transmit data according to the negotiation result. In the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present invention, bandwidth adjustment is flexible and the loss of data is avoided.

A method for reducing power consumption on an xDSL subscriber board, includes: obtaining a maximum downlink service bandwidth, a downlink signal-to-noise ratio margin in line connection parameters of the user port, and transmission mode information in a line template bound to the user port; determining whether the downlink signal-to-noise ratio margin is larger than a preset value, if yes, reducing a maximum downlink nominal total transmission power; otherwise, configuring the maximum downlink nominal total transmission power as a downlink transmit power in line connection parameters of the current port; calculating a minimum undistorted power supply voltage required by a corresponding line driver of each registered user port under the current configuration of the bound template, comparing minimum undistorted power supply voltage values, to find the largest value; and controlling an output voltage of a power module of a line driver equaling to the largest value.

An apparatus for implementing low power consumption for data switching device includes a dormancy management module that controls an upper layer logic component in a device to enter a low power consumption state when a current state parameter of the device satisfies a preset dormancy configurationcondition; detects whether an energy consumption state of a transmission medium is active; and wakes up the upper layer logic component in the device to enter a normal working state if the energy consumption state of the transmission medium is active. When a preset condition is satisfied, upper layer logic components such as a CPU, a network processor and an optical module in the device, properly stop full-time operation to save energy.
