A stable delivery system for the therapeutic release and application of nitric oxide to a patient suffering from a cutaneous injury or wound includes a S-nitrosothiol and transition element nanoparticles. The transition metal nanoparticles are selected to react with the S-nitrosothiol to release and diffuse nitric oxide into the injury or wound.

Apparatus for the controlled release of topical nitric oxide

A dual sensor for the simultaneous amperometric monitoring of glucose and insulin, wherein the glucose probe is based on the biocatalytic action of glucose oxidase, and the insulin probe is based on the electrocatalytic activity of metal oxide. Further provided is an oxidase enzyme composite electrode with an internal oxygen-rich binder. The present invention also optionally includes metallizing components within the carbon paste to eliminate signals from interfering compounds. The present invention includes embodiments for both in vitro and in vivo uses.

Microsensors for glucose and insulin monitoring

A storage and delivery system for directly applying nitric oxide to a user includes a portable and disposable capsule and a source of nitric oxide gas disposed within the cavity. Gas flow control apparatus controls the flow of nitric oxide gas from the cavity. Gas flow initiation apparatus allows the user to initiate the flow of nitric oxide gas. The encapsulated nitric oxide gas is applied by positioning the capsule proximate to the objective site of the user and initiating flow of the nitric oxide gas.
