A system for use in determining parking spot allocation. The system includes a host vehicle parked in a host parking spot. The host vehicle includes a transceiver configured for vehicle-to-vehicle communication, and a control unit configured to determine the host vehicle is ready to depart the host parking spot, receive, via the transceiver, a first signal from at least one client vehicle, wherein the first signal indicates the at least one client vehicle is searching for a parking spot, allocate the host parking spot to a first client vehicle of the at least one client vehicle; and transmit, via the transceiver, a second signal to the first client vehicle, wherein the second signal notifies the first client vehicle that the host parking spot has been allocated to the first client vehicle, and provides location data associated with the host parking spot to the first client vehicle.

An example method includes transmitting a help request for help to a help center based on an emergency status of an occupant of a vehicle. The method also includes receiving availability information from the help center. The availability information indicates availability of one or more potential leader vehicles in an area. The method yet further includes placing the system in a follower mode based on a selection of a leader vehicle from the one or more potential leader vehicles by establishing a connection with the potential leader vehicle. In follower mode the vehicle is a follower vehicle. The method additionally includes wirelessly receiving a navigation instruction from the leader vehicle. The method includes executing a driving maneuver in an autonomous fashion based on the navigation instruction from the leader vehicle.

A merge behavior system assists a host vehicle positioned in a merge lane that is adjacent a mainline lane. The merge behavior system includes an identification module that identifies at least one proximate vehicle in the mainline lane, if present. The merge behavior system also includes a prediction module that selects one or more models based on the at least one proximate vehicle, calculates one or more merge factors corresponding to the one or more models, and predicts a merge location based on the one or more merge factors. The merge behavior system further includes a control module that adjusts a kinematic parameter of the host vehicle to bring the host vehicle within a merging distance of the predicted merge location. The merge behavior system includes a merge module that determines whether a gap at the predicted merge location is a sufficient size for the host vehicle.

A computer-implemented method for emotion detection and communication includes receiving host passenger data for a host passenger of a host vehicle and determining an emotion of the host vehicle based on the host passenger data. The method includes communicating the emotion of the host vehicle to one or more remote vehicles and an emotion of the one or more remote vehicles to the host vehicle. Further, the method includes generating an output based on the emotion of the host vehicle and the emotion of the one or more remote vehicles. The output is an interactive user interface providing an indication of the emotion of the host vehicle and an indication of the emotion of the one or more remote vehicle. The method includes rendering the output to a human machine interface device.

The electronic apparatus determines an initial MCS level associated the V2X communication channel of the vehicle and estimates a first level of channel congestion in the V2X communication channel at the initial MCS level. Thereafter, the electronic apparatus selects, from a plurality of MCS levels for V2X communication, a first MCS level associated with a first threshold level of a plurality of threshold levels of the channel congestion. The selection of the first MCS level is based on a determination that the first level of the channel congestion is greater than or equal to the first threshold level. The selected first MCS level is greater than the initial MCS level. The electronic apparatus transmits, at the selected first MCS level, message information over the V2X communication channel to a group of electronic devices.

In one embodiment, a system for reporting electrical infrastructure and vegetation twining is provided. The system includes a recognition module, a position module, a twining module, and a report module. The recognition module is configured to detect electrical infrastructure and vegetation in a set of sensor data received from vehicle sensors. The position module is configured to associate a location with the set of sensor data. The twining module is configured to identify a twining event of the vegetation and the electrical infrastructure based on a proximity threshold of the electrical infrastructure and the vegetation. The report module is configured to generate a report including the twining event and the location.

A system and method for providing road user classification training using a vehicle communications network that include analyzing sensor data to determine a sensor classification of at least one road user. The system and method also include analyzing at least one message that is received through the vehicle communications network to determine a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) classification of the at least one road user. The system and method additionally include determining if a variance exists between the V2X classification of the at least one road user and the sensor classification of the at least road user. The system and method further include training a neural network with classification variance data upon determining that the variance exists between the V2X classification and sensor classification.

According to one or more aspects, a system for coordinated driving may include a vehicle communication system receiving a proposed driving maneuver from a tractor vehicle, an input device receiving a response to the proposed driving maneuver from an occupant of a trailer vehicle, and a route generation module generating a route corresponding to the proposed driving maneuver based on the response to the proposed driving maneuver. The tractor vehicle may be engaged in segment-by-segment coordinated driving with the trailer vehicle utilizing a cooperative adaptive cruise control (CACC) module.

Systems and methods for shared autonomy through cooperative sensing are described. According to one embodiment, a cooperative sensing system includes a rendezvous module that receives broadcast messages from a plurality of cooperating vehicles on the roadway. The rendezvous module also selects a subordinate vehicle from the plurality of cooperating vehicles based on the autonomy level of the subordinate vehicle as compared to an autonomy level of a principal vehicle. The cooperative sensing system also includes a positioning module that determines a cooperative position of the principal vehicle and the subordinate vehicle. The cooperative sensing system further includes a negotiation module that receives at least one cooperating parameter from the subordinate vehicle. The cooperative sensing system includes a perception module that initiates cooperative automation the subordinate vehicle according to the at least one cooperating parameter when the principal vehicle and the subordinate vehicle are positioned in the cooperative position.
