A communication method and apparatus are provided. The method includes: receiving configuration information from a network device, where the configuration information indicates an occasion and/or a period for sending a measurement signal on a second uplink carrier; obtaining signal quality or signal strength on a downlink carrier associated with a first uplink carrier, or signal quality or signal strength on a downlink resource on a first uplink carrier; and when a first condition is met, sending the measurement signal on the second uplink carrier by occupying the occasion and/or the period; or when a first condition is not met, determining not to send the measurement signal on the second uplink carrier by occupying the occasion and/or the period.

One example method includes determining, by a terminal, a symbol that needs to be punctured, and sending the uplink signal by the terminal based on the symbol that needs to be punctured. Embodiments of the present invention relate to a channel estimation method, a base station, user equipment UE, and a system. The method includes: setting up, by a base station, a connection to user equipment UE; and sending, to the UE, notification information indicating that the UE is in a radio remote scenario, where the notification information is used to instruct the UE to perform channel estimation by using a channel estimation algorithm applicable to the radio remote scenario, and the channel estimation algorithm is used to perform channel estimation on a signal that is obtained after downlink signals from multiple radio remote units RRUs are superposed. The UE can perform channel estimation by using the appropriate channel estimation algorithm, to effectively improve accuracy of the channel estimation, thereby effectively improving a downlink data throughput of the UE.

Embodiments of the present invention relate to the communications field and disclose a data transmission device, method, and system, so as to better improve an average downlink throughput of UE. A specific solution is: A determining unit determines a downlink frequency shift according to a received uplink signal sent by a terminal device, and determines a second transmit frequency according to the downlink frequency shift and a first transmit frequency; and a sending unit sends a downlink signal to the terminal device according to the second transmit frequency determined by the determining unit, so that the terminal device receives the downlink signal according to a receive frequency corresponding to the first transmit frequency, where the downlink signal includes at least one of a DMRS or downlink data. The present invention is applied in a data transmission process.

A channel estimation method, a base station, user equipment (UE), and a system are provided. The method includes allocating a specified time period for receiving an uplink reference signal to each node, receiving an uplink reference signal that is received in the specified time period and forwarded by each node, obtaining power or a signal-to-noise ratio of the uplink reference signal forwarded by each node, selecting a time period corresponding to an uplink reference signal with maximum power or a maximum signal-to-noise ratio as a positioning time period, obtaining a corresponding positioning node according to the positioning time period and the specified time period for receiving an uplink reference signal, and determining a location of the mobile terminal according to a location of the positioning node.
