The present application discloses a method for mitigating inter-cell interference (ICI) by scheduling user equipments. The method comprises estimating inter-cell interference tolerance of each of at least one neighboring cell during uplink transmission of the user equipment; and coordinating uplink scheduling of the user equipment in accordance with the inter-cell interference tolerance. The present application also discloses a base station, a radio network controller and relevant signaling for mitigating inter-cell interference (ICI) by scheduling user equipments.

Inter-cell interference mitigation

The present disclosure discloses a pilot signal transmission method in a wireless communication system and an associated Transmit-Receive Point (TRP). The method comprises transmitting a periodic pilot signal for channel estimation from at least one TRP in the proximity of a User Equipment (UE) within a combined cell, when the UE is not scheduled for data transmission. The method further comprises transmitting a pilot signal for demodulation from the same TRP, when the UE is scheduled for data transmission. The transmission power of the periodic pilot signal for channel estimation is lower than that of the pilot signal for signal for channel demodulation. The present disclosure further provides a pilot signal reception method in a wireless communication network and an associated UE.

Pilot signal transmission method, associated transmit-receive point, pilot signal reception method and associated user equipment

A first network node () and a method therein for controlling load in a first cell () of the first network node () are provided. The first network node () comprises a multi-stage receiver. The first network node () computes an interference cancellation gain, at an intermediate stage of the multi-stage receiver. Furthermore, the first network node () estimates neighbor cell interference from interfering signals while accounting for a load utilization. The load utilization relates to power transmitted and power granted. The first network node () calculates a load measure for stability based on at least the interference cancellation gain and the neighbor cell interference. Next, the first network node () controls the load in the first cell () based on the load measure for stability.

Method and a first network node for controlling load

Methods and devices of controlling impact from interference from transmission to a 4-branch Multiple Input Multiple Output, MIMO, enabled User Equipment, UE, in a cellular radio system where legacy non 4-branch MIMO UEs co-exist are provided. The control involves determining an estimated Channel Quality Indicator, CQI, delay, and based on the estimated CQI delay determining if there exists a CQI under-estimation or CQI over-estimation. The control of the impact from high rank interference from transmission to the 4-branch MIMO enabled UE is based on a determined CQI under-estimation or CQI over-estimation.

The present disclosure relates to an uplink congestion control scheme. In one embodiment, an uplink congestion control method is provided, comprising steps of: determining whether or not a congestion status of a serving cell is changed based on a rise over thermal, RoT, measurement; sending to a set of user equipment, UEs, a signaling to indicate the change of the congestion status; and performing an uplink congestion control based on the RoT measurement and with enhanced transmission format combination, E-TFC, reselection by at least one UE from the set of UEs based at least on the signaling.

The present disclosure discloses a pilot signal configuration method in a wireless communication system and an associated wireless network node. The method comprises allocating a dedicated pilot signal to a User Equipment (UE) within a combined cell. The method further comprises selecting, from all Transmit-Receive Points (TRPs) within the combined cell, at least one TRP in the proximity of the UE for transmission of the dedicated pilot signal to the UE. The present disclosure further provides a pilot-signal-based reception method in a wireless communication network and an associated UE.

The present disclosure relates to a cell selection scheme. In one embodiment, there provides a method for performing a cell selection for a UE at a primary serving cell of the UE in a CoMP cluster including the primary serving cell and one or more candidate cells, the method comprising the steps of: receiving PRACH measurements for the UE from the candidate cells; and selecting from the candidate cells one or more cells for the UE as its secondary serving cells based on the received PRACH measurements.

A method for transmit power control (TPC) is provided. The method includes obtaining a first channel quality of a pilot channel for a user equipment (UE); performing an interference cancellation on the pilot channel to obtain a second channel quality of the channel; and instructing the UE to adjust the transmit power based on at least the first channel quality.

Transmit power control

A wireless terminal comprises a communications interface and a congestion controller. The communications interface communicates over a radio interface with a base station. The congestion controller, upon occurrence of a congestion indication, reduces uplink transmission power of the wireless terminal by lowering a transport format combination for use by the wireless terminal for transmitting an enhanced dedicated uplink channel (E-DCH) over the radio interface to the base station. In an example embodiment and mode, the congestion controller performs an expedited transport format combination reduction procedure which is distinct from Dedicated Physical Control Channel (DPCCH) power reduction based on a command received in a closed loop power control procedure, e.g., on a Fractional-DPCH (F-DPCH) channel.

The invention relates to Coordinated Scheduling for a Time Division Duplex (TDD) network. In a method for User Equipment (UE) scheduling by a base station in a TDD network, the base station receives scheduling decision from at least one neighboring cell of the base station, and schedules a UE among a plurality of UEs in the serving cell of the base station based on the scheduling decision from the at least one neighboring cell and based on smart antenna information. The inter-cell interference is suppressed and therefore the network performance is improved.
