A magnesium halide adduct represented by the formula (I): MgX.mROH.nE.pHO, in which X is chlorine, bromine, a C-Calkoxy, a C-Ccycloalkoxy or a C-Caryloxy, with the proviso that at least one X is chlorine or bromine; R is a C-Calkyl, a C-Ccycloalkyl or a C-Caryl; E is an o-alkoxybenzoate compound represented by the formula (II): in which Rand Rgroups are independently a C-Clinear or branched alkyl, a C-Ccycloalkyl, a C-Caryl, a C-Calkaryl or an C-Caralkyl, the Rand Rgroups are identical to or different from the R group; m is in a range of from 1.0 to 5.0; n is in a range of from 0.001 to 0.5; and p is in a range of from 0 to 0.8, is disclosed. A catalyst component useful in olefin polymerization, which comprises a reaction product of (1) the magnesium halide adduct, (2) a titanium compound, and optionally (3) an electron donor compound, is also disclosed. 

Spherical magnesium halide adduct, a catalyst component and a catalyst for olefin polymerization prepared therefrom

A spheric magnesium compound comprises a reaction product of at least the following components: (a) a magnesium halide having a formula of MgXR, wherein X is independently chloride or bromide, R is a C-Calkyl, a C-Caryl, a C-Calkoxy, or a C-Caryloxy, and n is 0 or 1; (b) an alcohol compound; and (c) an epoxy compound having a general formula (I), wherein Rand Rare independently hydrogen, a C-Clinear or branched alkyl, or a C-Clinear or branched haloalkyl. The magnesium compound has characteristic DSC curve and X-ray diffraction pattern, and can be used as a carrier for olefin polymerization catalyst.  

Carrier for olefin polymerization catalyst, preparation method and application thereof

A catalyst component for olefin polymerization is disclosed, which comprises a reaction product of the following components: (1) a spheric carrier; (2) a titanium compound; and optionally, (3) an electron donor, wherein the spheric carrier comprises a reaction product of at least the following components: (a) a magnesium halide represented by a general formula of MgXR, wherein X is independently chloride or bromide, R is a C-Calkyl, a C-Caryl, a C-Calkoxy, or a C-Caryloxy, and n is 0 or 1; (b) an alcohol compound; and (c) an epoxy compound represented by a general formula (I), wherein Rand Rare independently hydrogen, a C-Clinear or branched alkyl, or a C-Clinear or branched haloalkyl. When the catalyst of the invention is used in olefin polymerization, in particular in propylene polymerization, at least one of the following desired effects can be achieved: high polymerization activity of catalyst, high stereospecificity of catalyst, good hydrogen response of catalyst, high stereoregularity of polymer having high melt index, and low content of polymer fines. 

Catalyst component for olefin polymerization and catalyst comprising the same

The present invention discloses cyclopentane carboxylate compounds. The 1-hydrocarbyl-2-acyloxy-cyclopentane carboxylates according to the invention have a general formula (I): wherein groups R, Rand R, which are identical or different, are independently selected from the group consisting of linear or branched C-Calkyl, C-Ccycloalkyl, C-Caryl, C-Calkaryl and C-Caralkyl. The present invention also discloses a process as well as intermediate compounds for preparing the compounds of formula (I), and use of the compounds (I) as electron donor in the preparation of catalysts for propylene polymerization.
