A composition is disclosed having minimum halogen content, fire-retardance and/or drip-resistant characteristics. The composition comprises an effective amount of a polycarbonate, a glass fiber, a polysiloxane-polycarbonate copolymer, and a synergistic combination of an aromatic sulfone sulfonate such as potassium diphenylsulfone sulfonate with an aromatic sulfonate such as sodium salt of toluene sulfonic acid, optionally in the presence of an anti-drip agent. The polycarbonate composition is useful for manufacture of electronic and mechanical articles, among others.

Polycarbonate compositions and articles formed therefrom

A polycarbonate composition is disclosed having zero or minimum halogen content, while also exhibiting improved fire-retardance and/or drip-resistant characteristics. The composition comprises an effective amount of a polycarbonate, an anti-dripping agent, an aromatic sulfone sulfonate, an aromatic sulfonate, a synergistic combination of an elastomer-modified graft copolymer and a polysiloxane-polycarbonate copolymer, and an optional siloxane oligomer. The polycarbonate composition is useful for manufacture of electronic and mechanical articles, among others.

A thermoplastic composition comprises a polycarbonate, an acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate terpolymer, and a low gloss additive, wherein the 60&#xb0; gloss is measured to be less than or equal to 90 GU according to ASTM D2457. The thermoplastic composition has excellent low gloss performance and mechanical performance. A method of making the thermoplastic composition, and an article comprising the thermoplastic composition are also disclosed.

A thermoplastic polycarbonate composition is disclosed, in various embodiments, having enhanced low-temperature ductility, UV resistance and/or fire-retardance characteristics. The composition comprises a polycarbonate, and a combination of an elastomer-modified graft copolymer and a polysiloxane-polycarbonate copolymer. The polycarbonate composition is useful for manufacture of electronic and mechanical parts, among others.
