The subject disclosure relates to storage. An example method includes receiving an input/output (I/O) request based on a protocol related to a first type of storage medium. The method further includes determining a namespace among a plurality of namespaces that is associated with the I/O request. The method further includes determining a binary file corresponding to the determined namespace based on a mapping relationship. The method further includes reading from and/or writing to a second type of storage medium based on the determined binary file, the second type being different from the first type. In this manner, a unified underlying storage implementation with software definition capabilities is provided, which enables different types of storage media to be operated as namespaces, thereby enabling the deployment of a storage system to adapt to more platforms and scenarios.

The present disclosure relates to transmitting data between multiple processes. An example method includes: establishing, in response to receiving a request to transmit data between a client terminal process and a server process in a computing device, a communication connection between the client terminal process and the server process, allocating shared storage blocks to the communication connection in response to determining that available shared storage blocks exist in the computing device, and transmitting data between the client terminal process and the server process using the shared storage blocks. Corresponding devices and program products are also described. Beneficially, shared storage blocks can provide higher bandwidth for inter-process data transmission, thereby improving the performance of data transmission.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method, an electronic device, and a computer program product for storage management. According to an example implementation of the present disclosure, a method for storage management includes: acquiring, at a host, a target response entry from a response queue, wherein the response queue includes at least one response entry associated with at least one storage device in a storage system which has been accessed by the host, and the target response entry records information about a target response of a target storage device in the at least one storage device to an access operation initiated by the host; determining, based on the target response entry, whether a failure associated with the target response occurs; and acquiring the target response based on the target response entry if it is determined that no failure occurs. Therefore, the storage performance can be improved.

Method, electronic device and computer program product for storage management

A storage system is managed. For example, in response to a request at a first storage node for data related to a second storage node, it is determined whether the first storage node and the second storage node belong to the same storage node group having an interconnection structure. If it is determined that the first storage node and the second storage node belong to different storage node groups, data is transmitted between the first storage node and the second storage node based on a mapping between storage nodes in a first storage node group with the first storage node and storage nodes in a second storage node group with the second storage node. Thus, data transmission can be performed between different storage node groups through a mapping relationship.
