A network device for providing single-carrier quadrature amplitude modulation (SC-QAM) downstream channel fast pre-scanning. An orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) downstream (DS) channel scan in a foreground process and a single-carrier quadrature amplitude modulation (SC-QAM) DS channel scan in a background process are simultaneously performed. When a first OFDM downstream channel is locked onto, OFDM downstream channel is paused while scanning for SC-QAM downstream channels continues. SC-QAM DS channels identified in the background process are stored in a table. Based on a scan of all OFDM channels and failure to lock onto any OFDM DS channels, the SC-QAM DS channel scan in the background process is stopped and a normal SC-QAM DS channel scan is started. SC-QAM DS channels in the table are scanned first to provide fast pre-scanning. A modem becomes operational with a qualified SC-QAM DS channel obtained from the table.

Single-carrier quadrature amplitude modulation (SC-QAM) downstream channel fast pre-scanning

An electronic device for processing real-time-streaming-protocol (RTSP) packets in a network to provide enhanced video-on-demand (VOD) services is provided. The electronic device includes a user interface, a non-transitory memory configured to store instructions including an application layer gateway (ALG) module and network service software, and a hardware processor. The hardware processor is configured to execute the instructions to store a list of mac-bridge clients that includes a MAC address and a MAC mask corresponding to each mac-bridge client, and determine whether at least one of the source and destination MAC address of a received RTSP packet is on the list. When at least one of the source and destination MAC address is on the list, the RTSP packet is processed using the network service software and a next RTSP packet is received; otherwise, the received RTSP packet is processed using the ALG module.

Processing real-time-streaming-protocol (RTSP) packets to enhance video-on-demand services

The present invention provides a mixture for liquid crystal medium and a liquid crystal display using the same. A method for setting a pre-tilt angle of liquid crystal molecules includes (1) providing liquid crystal material, a CF substrate, and a TFT substrate; (2) arranging the substrates to form a gap therebetween in which the liquid crystal material is filled to form a liquid crystal cell; (3) providing a drive control circuit that generates driving voltages and connecting the drive control circuit to the TFT substrate; (4) providing a small-amplitude oscillation device and an irradiation intensity variable ultraviolet light source and positioning the liquid crystal cell on the oscillation device; (5) activating the oscillation device to cause the liquid crystal cell to make small-amplitude oscillation and conducting on the drive control circuit to supply driving voltages to drive the liquid crystal material, the ultraviolet light source being applied to irradiate the liquid crystal cell with ultraviolet lights of different intensities; and (6) repeating step (5) for at least one time.

The invention provides a vertical alignment liquid crystal panel, which includes a first glass substrate, a second glass substrate, and a liquid crystal layer that includes negative liquid crystal containing liquid crystal molecules having a pre-tilt angle of 0&#xb0;-7&#xb0;, chiral agent, and a photo- or heat-polymerizable polymer. The first glass substrate includes a liquid crystal panel driving circuit, which includes a gate driver, a source driver, a plurality of gate lines, and a plurality of data lines. The gate lines and the data lines define a plurality of pixel units, each of which includes a thin-film transistor, a common electrode, and a pixel electrode. The source driver applies a driving voltage of 0-6V via the thin-film transistor to the pixel electrode. The present invention improves elastic energy between the liquid crystal molecules and thus avoids image sticking caused by long term displaying of the same image at the same location.
