A method for picture processing is described. A first tracking area is obtained. A second tracking area is also obtained. The method includes beginning to track the first tracking area and the second tracking area. Picture processing is performed once a portion of the first tracking area overlapping the second tracking area passes a threshold.

A method includes receiving a user input (e.g., a one-touch user input), performing segmentation to generate multiple candidate regions of interest (ROIs) in response to the user input, and performing ROI fusion to generate a final ROI (e.g., for a computer vision application). In some cases, the segmentation may include motion-based segmentation, color-based segmentation, or a combination thereof. Further, in some cases, the ROI fusion may include intraframe (or spatial) ROI fusion, temporal ROI fusion, or a combination thereof.

This disclosure is directed to a system and a method for providing enhanced real-time or near-real-time response to request for detached data analytics services. In one implementation, a system is disclosed for predicting a data analytics service that may be requested by a user based on real-time user interactive operations, and for pre-loading/pre-configuring a pipeline of data analytics components for performing the predicted data analytics service before an actual request is made. Additionally, at least some intermediate data may be calculated by the pre-configured pipeline and may be pre-cached in memory. Upon actual user request for the data analytics service, only data analytics that require additional input data concurrently provided with the request would need to be performed. In such a manner, user-perceived delay in completing the detached data analytics service is reduced.

A method for obtaining structural information from a digital image by an electronic device is described. The method includes obtaining a digital image. The method also includes determining a gradient vector for each pixel in a region of interest of the digital image. The method further includes transforming each pixel in the region of interest in accordance with a transform. Transforming each pixel includes determining, for each pixel, a first set of pixels. The first set of pixels includes any pixel along a line that is collinear with or perpendicular to the gradient vector and passes through a pixel location. Transforming each pixel includes incrementing with signed integer values, for each pixel, a first set of values in a transform space corresponding to any of the first set of pixels that are in a first direction of the line.

Systems and methods for obtaining structural information from a digital image

A method of generating a temporal saliency map is disclosed. In a particular embodiment, the method includes receiving an object bounding box from an object tracker. The method includes cropping a video frame based at least in part on the object bounding box to generate a cropped image. The method further includes performing spatial dual segmentation on the cropped image to generate an initial mask and performing temporal mask refinement on the initial mask to generate a refined mask. The method also includes generating a temporal saliency map based at least in part on the refined mask.

System and method to stabilize display of an object tracking box

A method performed by an electronic device is described. The method includes determining a local motion pattern by determining a set of local motion vectors within a region of interest between a previous frame and a current frame. The method also includes determining a global motion pattern by determining a set of global motion vectors between the previous frame and the current frame. The method further includes calculating a separation metric based on the local motion pattern and the global motion pattern. The separation metric indicates a motion difference between the local motion pattern and the global motion pattern. An electronic device is described. The electronic device includes a processor. The processor is configured to obtain a plurality of images. The processor is also configured to obtain global motion information indicating global motion between at least two of the plurality of images. The processor is further configured to obtain object tracking information indicating motion of a tracked object between the at least two of the plurality of images. The processor is additionally configured to perform automatic zoom based on the global motion information and the object tracking information. Performing automatic zoom produces a zoom region including the tracked object. The processor is configured to determine a motion response speed for the zoom region based on a location of the tracked object within the zoom region.
