Examples are provided that enable a cellular network location assist to confirm a position determined using a sensor of a mobile device. As a result of global positioning system signals becoming unavailable due to the mobile device traveling indoors, the mobile device implements a sensor-based position determination that provides a position of the mobile device as the mobile device travels about a location. In order to confirm the reliability of the sensor-based position determination, the mobile device, after passage of time or after traveling some estimated distance, requests location assistance indications from the cellular network. A processor of the mobile device receives the location assistance indications and generates a directional vector based on several of the location assistance indications. Using the directional vector, the processor confirms the reliability of the dead reckoning position.

Radio access network service-assisted, sensor based indoor navigation

A device may receive information that identifies available content associated with multicast streams available for transmission via a network. The device may determine content selected from the available content. The selected content may be associated with a multicast stream available for transmission via the network. The device may receive the multicast stream associated with the selected content via an air interface. The device may process the multicast stream into a format compatible with a connection interface. The device may output the processed multicast stream to a display device, that is different from the device, via the connection interface.

Streaming multicast content to a television via a mobile device

A system may include a group of user devices; and one or more base stations configured to receive programming content from a content provider, and distribute the received programming content, via a broadcast or multicast technique, to the group of user devices. Automatic detection for touch through glove

A system and method are disclosed for restricting driver access to mobile devices while driving. The system includes an interface which facilities communicating with the vehicle and communicates with mobile devices present in the vehicle. The system determines the location of each mobile device in the vehicle in order to identify the mobile device belonging to the driver. If the vehicle is currently moving, functions of the driver's mobile device can be restricted or limited, while allowing passengers full access to their mobile devices.

System and method for preventing driver use of a mobile device

Information is provided to a mobile device while reducing the number of traffic channels established over a predetermined time period. A pull client on a mobile device receives requests for information from applications on the mobile device. The pull client creates a timing list which includes the timing requirements for each application. Applications that have overlapping timing requirements are grouped together into the same timing group. Once the time for creating a traffic channel for one of the groups arrives, a traffic channel is created between the mobile device and a carrier gateway. Information for each respective application within the same timing group is obtained through the network using the same traffic channel. When the requested information is provided to all applications within the same timing group, the traffic channel is released after a predetermined time. The method is repeated for a next timing group entry.
