A server includes a chassis, a motherboard, a number of data storage devices, a number of system fans, and a power supply mounted in the chassis. The system fans generate an airflow flowing through the chassis, from a front portion of the chassis to a rear portion of the chassis. The power supply includes a power fan causing an airflow directed rearwards through the front portion of the chassis to prevent a disturbance with the airflow from the system fans.

A system is used to measure a fan rotational speed. The system includes a main controller, a first socket coupled to the linear fan, a second socket connected to the main controller, and an optical fiber amplifier connected to the main controller. A PWM (pulse width module) fan is coupled to the second socket, the PWM fan sends a first rotational speed signal, which represent a rotation speed of the PWM fan, to the main controller via the second socket. The optical fiber amplifier is capable of radiating light on fan blades of the linear fan, and sensing light reflected by the fan blades to count a rotational speed of the linear fan, and generating a second rotational speed signal which represents a rotational speed of the linear fan. The optical fiber amplifier sends the second rotational speed signal to the main controller.

System for measuring fan rotational speed

A testing system for a power supply () includes a testing chamber (), a control switch, an electrical load (), an AC source (), and a PLC (). The power supply has a voltage choice switch. The testing chamber receives the power supply therein. The testing chamber provides a first or a second ambient temperature and supplies a testing environment for the power supply. The control switch switches the power supply to operate between a standby state and an operational state. The electrical load is connected to the power supply. The AC source is connected to the power supply. The AC source outputs the first voltage or the second voltage to the power supply. The PLC controls switching states of the voltage choice switch and the control switch in a manner such that the power supply selectively operates in one of combined switching states of the voltage choice switch and the control switch.
