This application provides a communication method and apparatus, where a first radio link control (RLC) entity is introduced to transmit a network-coded redundant packet, and a second RLC entity is introduced to transmit a network-coded original packet, to support requirement-based transmission of the network-coded redundant packet. In some embodiments, an apparatus receives scheduling information from an access network device. The apparatus obtains a network-coded redundant packet through a first RLC entity, generates a first transport block (TB) based on the network-coded redundant packet, and sends the first TB to the access network device, where the first TB includes the network-coded redundant packet. The first RLC entity is configured to transmit the network-coded redundant packet. In this way, the access network device schedules the network-coded redundant packet by using the scheduling information only when the network-coded redundant packet needs to be scheduled, avoiding resource waste by reducing unnecessary and redundant transmission.

Communication method and apparatus

This application relates to the communications field, and discloses an event processing method and an apparatus, to prevent a network device from misunderstanding occurrence of a first event or a second event. The event processing method includes: determining first indication information, where the first indication information is used to indicate random access RA triggered by a first event or a second event, the first event refers to a quantity of transmissions of a scheduling request (SR) reaching a maximum quantity of transmissions of the SR, and the second event refers to, for an SR that has been triggered and that is in a pending state, there being no available physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resource; and sending the first indication information.

Event processing method and apparatus

A communication method and an apparatus are provided, to resolve a problem of low data transmission efficiency. The method includes: in response to receiving a paging message from a terminal device, a terminal device determines, based on a preconfiguration and/or the paging message, a first physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) resource used to transmit a paging response, and sends the paging response to the access network device on the first PUSCH resource, where the paging response carries identity authentication information of the terminal device. After the access network device or a core network successfully performs identity authentication on the terminal device, downlink data transmission can be performed. Compared with a manner in which downlink data transmission can be performed only after a radio resource control (RRC) connection is set up or resumed, this manner can improve data transmission efficiency.

Embodiments of this application provide a data transmission method and an apparatus. When more than two radio link control RLC entities are configured for one radio bearer RB, a secondary network device receives indication information from a master network device. The secondary network device may determine, based on the indication information, a master RLC entity associated with the radio bearer, to indicate, to a terminal device, RLC entities that need to be activated and deactivated.

Embodiments of this application provide example communication methods and apparatuses. One example method includes receiving, by a first network device, a first request message and uplink data from a terminal, where the first request message is for requesting to resume a suspended radio resource control (RRC) connection. The first network device can then send a second request message to a second network device based on the first request message and the uplink data, where the second network device is a network device previously serving the terminal, and the second request message includes information about the uplink data, where the second request message is for requesting the second network device to release a first data channel between the second network device and a core network device, or the second request message is for requesting the second network device to send a context of the terminal to the first network device.

Embodiments of the present invention disclose a communication method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable storage medium. The method includes: receiving a first data packet; and sending the first data packet and first indication information to an access network device, where the first indication information indicates that the first data packet is an uplink data packet or a downlink data packet, and the first indication information is used by the access network device to determine an access network AN packet delay budget PDB of a first quality of service QoS flow corresponding to the first data packet.

Communication method, apparatus, and computer-readable storage medium

Embodiments of this application relate to the field of communication technologies, and provide a timing method for dealing with a link exception and an apparatus. A specific solution is as follows: receiving a first synchronization packet from a first terminal device; receiving a second synchronization packet from a second terminal device or a server; and if the first synchronization packet and the second synchronization packet belong to a same TSN domain, determining a to-be-forwarded synchronization packet in the first synchronization packet and the second synchronization packet. In this way, if the to-be-forwarded packet is the first synchronization packet, the first synchronization packet is forwarded, and the second synchronization packet is filtered. Embodiments of this application are used to improve timing precision in a timing process of the TSN device for the 5GS.

Timing method for dealing with link exception and apparatus

This application provides a communication method and apparatus. One example method includes receiving, by a central unit of a first network device, a retrieve user equipment (UE) context request from a second network device; sending, by the central unit of the first network device, a context of a terminal device in an inactive state to the second network device; and upon receiving the retrieve UE context request, sending, by the central unit of the first network device, a first message to a distributed unit of the first network device, where the first message indicates the distributed unit of the first network device to release a context of the terminal device.

Communication method and apparatus for small data transmission

A communication method and apparatus are provided. The method includes: receiving a first time difference from a second communication apparatus; determining a round trip time RTT based on the first time difference and a second time difference; and sending a second message to a terminal device, where the second message includes the RTT, an air interface propagation delay, or terminal device side timing information, a value of the air interface propagation delay is equal to half of a value of the RTT, and the terminal device side timing information is determined based on the air interface propagation delay. According to the method and the apparatus in embodiments of this application, high-precision timing between a network device and the terminal device in a CU-DU separation architecture can be implemented.

A target network device of a terminal device receives N data packets of a first service and auxiliary information from a source network device, where the auxiliary information indicates a transmission status of at least one data packet before the N data packets; and the target network device determines the transmission status of the at least one data packet.

A context management method includes: when a distributed unit (DU) of a network side device receives a first message from a centralized unit (CU) of the network side device, the DU of the network side device may store a context of the terminal side device in an inactive state. Random access method and apparatus

Embodiments of this application provide a configuration method and apparatus. When indicating, by using an RRC connection release message, a terminal to enter an inactive state from a connected state, a network device may include, in the RRC connection release message, a configuration parameter allocated to the terminal in the inactive state. That is, the terminal receives the radio resource control RRC connection release message sent by the network device, where the RRC connection release message includes first information used to indicate a target configuration parameter. In this way, the terminal may enter the inactive state based on the RRC connection release message, and determine a context parameter of the inactive state based on the first information, so that the configuration parameter is properly allocated to the terminal in the inactive state.
