A first network device sends a path switch request message to an access and mobility management function (AMF), where the path switch request message is used to request for switching least one radio bearer (RB) of a terminal device from a second network device to the first network device. The first network device receives a path switch request response message from the AMF. The first network device determines, based on the path switch request response message, a first burst arrival time at which a downlink quality of service QoS flow arrives at an ingress of the first network device within a first periodicity, where the first burst arrival time is used for downlink scheduling.

This application provides a communication method and apparatus, where a first radio link control (RLC) entity is introduced to transmit a network-coded redundant packet, and a second RLC entity is introduced to transmit a network-coded original packet, to support requirement-based transmission of the network-coded redundant packet. In some embodiments, an apparatus receives scheduling information from an access network device. The apparatus obtains a network-coded redundant packet through a first RLC entity, generates a first transport block (TB) based on the network-coded redundant packet, and sends the first TB to the access network device, where the first TB includes the network-coded redundant packet. The first RLC entity is configured to transmit the network-coded redundant packet. In this way, the access network device schedules the network-coded redundant packet by using the scheduling information only when the network-coded redundant packet needs to be scheduled, avoiding resource waste by reducing unnecessary and redundant transmission.

This application relates to the communications field, and discloses an event processing method and an apparatus, to prevent a network device from misunderstanding occurrence of a first event or a second event. The event processing method includes: determining first indication information, where the first indication information is used to indicate random access RA triggered by a first event or a second event, the first event refers to a quantity of transmissions of a scheduling request (SR) reaching a maximum quantity of transmissions of the SR, and the second event refers to, for an SR that has been triggered and that is in a pending state, there being no available physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resource; and sending the first indication information.

Event processing method and apparatus

A communication method and an apparatus are provided, to resolve a problem of low data transmission efficiency. The method includes: in response to receiving a paging message from a terminal device, a terminal device determines, based on a preconfiguration and/or the paging message, a first physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) resource used to transmit a paging response, and sends the paging response to the access network device on the first PUSCH resource, where the paging response carries identity authentication information of the terminal device. After the access network device or a core network successfully performs identity authentication on the terminal device, downlink data transmission can be performed. Compared with a manner in which downlink data transmission can be performed only after a radio resource control (RRC) connection is set up or resumed, this manner can improve data transmission efficiency.

Embodiments of this application provide a data transmission method and an apparatus. When more than two radio link control RLC entities are configured for one radio bearer RB, a secondary network device receives indication information from a master network device. The secondary network device may determine, based on the indication information, a master RLC entity associated with the radio bearer, to indicate, to a terminal device, RLC entities that need to be activated and deactivated.

Embodiments of this application provide example communication methods and apparatuses. One example method includes receiving, by a first network device, a first request message and uplink data from a terminal, where the first request message is for requesting to resume a suspended radio resource control (RRC) connection. Embodiments of this application relate to the field of communication technologies, and provide a timing method for dealing with a link exception and an apparatus. A specific solution is as follows: receiving a first synchronization packet from a first terminal device; receiving a second synchronization packet from a second terminal device or a server; and if the first synchronization packet and the second synchronization packet belong to a same TSN domain, determining a to-be-forwarded synchronization packet in the first synchronization packet and the second synchronization packet.
