The subject application relates to a cupseal for a compressor and method for preparing the same. Systems and methods are disclosed that include providing an annular seal for a compressor. The annular seal includes a substantially planar first portion, a first angled portion extending at an angle from the substantially planar first portion, and a second angled portion extending radially at an angle from the first angled portion. The annular seal is formed from a fluorinated polymer and includes at least one additive or filler. The annular seal exhibits reduced wear and an increased lifespan.

A bearing article can include a metal substrate having a bronze layer; a PEEK layer; a PTFE composition layer overlying and penetrating the PEEK layer. A method for preparing a bearing article can include providing a metal substrate with a sintered bronze layer, electrostatic spraying a non-fluorinated polymer onto the metal substrate followed by spraying a fluorinated polymer onto the non-fluorinated polymer and heat rolling to form a laminate.

Method of forming a laminate

A laminate article can include a substrate and a layer of a heterogeneous mixture of a non-fluorinated polymer compound and a fluorinated polymer compound. The laminate article can include a gradual concentration gradient along an axis perpendicular to the substrate. The gradual concentration gradient can include the change of the amount of the non-fluorinated polymer and the fluorinated polymer compound relative to the axis perpendicular to the substrate. The layer can further include at least one filler. The laminate can be applied as a bearing material.
