Implementations of the present disclosure relate to dynamic mesh service set identifiers (SSIDs). In the implementations, a first AP broadcasts a probe request including a first identifier and a first random number. The first AP receives a probe response including a second identifier and a second random number from a second AP. The first AP generates a first SSID based on the first identifier, the first random number, the second identifier and the second random number. The first AP transmits an authentication request including the first SSID to the second AP. The first AP receives an authentication response to the authentication request from the second AP. In this way, the mesh SSIDs associated with different mesh links are different so that other mesh APs would not be attacked even if a mesh SSID of one mesh AP in the same mesh cluster is exposed.

Dynamic mesh service set identifier

In implementations of the present disclosure, a method is provided for multi-link operation (MLO) at multi-link devices (MLDs). A first MLD establishes a plurality of links on a radio band with a second MLD based on a primary service set identifier (SSID). The first MLD further generates a key for the plurality of links on the radio band based on the primary SSID, and performs transmission of a traffic flow with the second MLD at least based on the plurality of links and the key. In this way, with multiple links on the same radio band, a suitable link among the multiple links can be used for the transmission, thereby improving stability, utility and performance of links in the MLO.

Multi-link operation

A method for scanning enhancement is provided. The method comprises receiving a channel scan request, including a scan channel number, a bandwidth, and a total scan time. The method further comprises determining a number of a plurality of scans based on the total scan time and an individual scan time for an AP. The method further comprises determining a plurality of offset values corresponding to the plurality of scans based on the number of the plurality of scans. In addition, the method further comprises performing off-channel scanning based on the scan channel number, the bandwidth, the number of the plurality of scans, and the plurality of offset values. Implementations of the present disclosure can improve the effect and the efficiency of the scanning process, the performance of the features of the upper layer, and the user experience.

WiFi scaning enhancement

Systems and methods are provided for a computing system for managing a mesh network deployment that includes a memory storing machine-executable instructions, and a processor configured to access the memory and execute the machine executable instructions to receive, link performance measurements from a plurality of access points in a mesh network, and determining a topology of the mesh network by: determining a first node competition index (NCI) for each interfering access point of the plurality of access points in the mesh network; comparing the NCI for each interfering access point to determine a maximum transmission time for each mesh link; and altering the network topology by assigning an active or backup mesh link to each access point based on the maximum transmission time for each mesh link.

Centralized solution to high-throughput topology optimization for wireless mesh networks

Implementations of the present disclosure relate to automatic AP failure recovery with assistance of a neighbor AP. A method includes detecting, by a first access point (AP), a failure at the first AP. The method further includes transmitting, by the first AP to a second AP, a query about an operating status of the second AP. The first AP then receives, from the second AP, a response to the query, the response indicating the operating status of the second AP. The method also includes determining, by the first AP and based at least in part on the operating status of the second AP, that the failure is not indicative of an event also impacting the second AP. The method further includes utilizing, by the first AP, the second AP to assist with recovery from the failure.

Autonomous access point failure recovery

In implementations of the present disclosure, there is provided a method for access point (AP) validation. The method comprises detecting a trigger event for validating a network including a plurality of APs, and selecting a target AP from the plurality of APs based on a neighbor table of an AP associated with the detected trigger event. The method further comprises determining a validation case corresponding to the detected trigger event from a knowledge base. The method further comprises sending the validation case to the target AP, and, receiving a result of performance of the validation case from the target AP in response to the validation case being performed. Implementations of the present disclosure can validate whether the network change takes effect in the network automatically, and can improve the validation efficiency of the network changes.

Access point validation for network change

In embodiments of the present disclosure, a method is provided for managing a mesh point. A request is transmitted from a mesh point to a mesh portal, and the request indicates that Reduced Neighbor Report (RNR) information is required. A beacon with the RNR information is received from the mesh portal. A mesh link is established with a target mesh portal based on the beacon with the RNR information. Therefore, the time cost and the data communication of a scanning procedure of the mesh point may be greatly reduced. Further, communications in the scanning procedure are lowered, such that conflicts in the air may be alleviated.

Mesh network management

An example device comprising: a processor to determine whether an uplink of the network device in a mesh network is operational, to determine whether a host is reachable through the uplink in response to the uplink being operational, and to periodically determine a mesh network role of the network device based on the determination of whether the host is reachable through the uplink.
