Apparatus and methods for aligning contention-based wireless communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration for a carrier associated with a primary cell (PCell), the carrier configured with a first control resource set (CORESET) pool index value and a second CORESET pool index value. The UE may receive an indication of a set of candidate beams available for a beam failure recovery (BFR) procedure, the set of candidate beams comprising a first subset of candidate beams associated with the first CORESET pool index value and a second subset of candidate beams associated with the second CORESET pool index value. The UE may detect a beam failure on the carrier on an active beam of the primary cell that is associated with the first CORESET pool index value or the second CORESET pool index value. The UE may select a new candidate beam from the set of candidate beams.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network device, a downlink control channel order requesting the UE to participate in random access procedure via two or more downlink control channel candidates associated with different transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states that are linked for repetition. In some examples, downlink control information conveying the downlink control channel order may indicate which TCI state to use for the random access procedure. In some examples, the UE may select a TCI state to use for the random access procedure, for example, based on the channel quality of the downlink control channel candidates.

A first node may transmit a set of sensing signals. The first node may transmit a phase coherence indication based on a set of phase coherence discontinuities associated with the set of sensing signals to a second node. The second node may measure the set of sensing signals based on the phase coherence indication. The first node may be a transmitter node. The second node may be a receiver node. The first or second node may be one of a transmission reception point (TRP), a user equipment (UE), a sensing reference unit, or a positioning reference unit.

Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) may obtain a first set of position estimates of the UE based on applying a first positioning model to one or more radio frequency fingerprint positioning (RFFP) measurements. The UE may obtain a second set of position estimates of the UE using a positioning technique that does not use the first positioning model. The UE may transmit a mismatch report, wherein the mismatch report is based on comparing the first set of position estimates with the second set of position estimates.

Provided herein are devices and techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a radio frequency identification (RFID) device may receive a positioning reference signal that is transmitted over a set of radio resources of a wireless communications network, the positioning reference signal including a first temporal portion for energy harvesting and a second temporal portion for backscattering. The RFID device may transmit a backscattered signal based on at least a part of the second temporal portion of the positioning reference signal.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for receiving an uplink cancelation indication (ULCI) with a number of bits that indicate resources on which one or more uplink channels are to be modified; determining, from at least two uplink transmission groups characterized by different spatial parameters, at least one uplink transmission group to which a received ULCI applies in a component charrier; and modifying the one or more uplink channels that belong to the determined uplink transmission group in accordance with the ULCI. For example, modifying the one or more uplink channels includes at least partially canceling the one or more uplink channels if the resources indicated in the ULCI overlap with the resources of the one or more uplink channels. The one or more uplink channels may include at least one of: one or more physical uplink shared channels (PUSCHs) or one or more PUSCH repetitions.
