Aspects of the present disclosure provide a method for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE). The method generally includes receiving a measurement configuration, wherein the measurement configuration indicates at least one or more frequency bands, determining, based on one or more parameters, a periodicity for measuring the at least one or more frequency bands, and performing measurements of the at least one or more frequency bands according to the determined periodicity.

Methods and apparatuses for cell measurements

Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for enhanced inter-frequency detection between misaligned base stations are disclosed herein. A user equipment (UE) may determine that a neighbor cell associated with a first frequency is misaligned with a serving cell associated with a second frequency different than the first frequency based on first measurements of the neighbor cell within a first measurement gap window having a first length. The UE may detect a location of a synchronization signal block (SSB) associated with the neighbor cell within a second measurement gap window having a second length greater than the first length. The UE may determine an alignment offset between the location of the SSB and the first measurement gap window. The UE may obtain second measurements of the neighbor cell within a third measurement gap window that includes the location of the SSB based on the alignment offset and parameters of the SSB.

Enhanced inter-frequency detection for misaligned base stations

In a dual network link scenario, a wireless network may provide a user equipment (UE) with a measurement configuration indicating multiple inter-frequency measurement objects during an off duration of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle configured on a first network link. The UE may assign the inter-frequency measurement objects to a second network link if the second network link has an always-on configuration. Alternatively, if the second network link has a DRX configuration, the UE may perform some inter-frequency measurement activities on the first network link and assign some inter-frequency measurement objects to unoccupied gap occasions in the off duration for the DRX cycle configured on the second network link. In this way, the UE may save power by spending more time in a low power state, and mobility performance for the UE may be improved by increasing the efficiency and reliability of inter-frequency measurement activities.

Load balancing inter-frequency measurement activities for dual network link scenarios

Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may determine a mode in which the user equipment is enabled, wherein the mode is one of a non-standalone mode, a standalone mode, or a standalone mode and a non-standalone mode; determine whether to prioritize a first set of frequencies associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) or a second set of frequencies associated with a second RAT based at least in part on the mode in which the user equipment is enabled, wherein the first RAT is different from the second RAT; and perform a search of the first set of frequencies or the second set of frequencies based at least in part on whether the first set of frequencies or the second set of frequencies is prioritized. Techniques and apparatuses for mobile network searching in multiple radio access technologies

A method of wireless communication determines whether the timing of a non-serving RAT is known. When the timing is known and it is time to report on the non-serving RAT, the UE clears enough consecutive time slots to verify the identity of the base station in the non-serving RAT. During the cleared time slots the identity of the base station is verified. When the timing is unknown and it is time to report on the non-serving RAT, a UE clears enough consecutive time slots to measure the timing of the non-serving RAT and to verify the identity of a base station in the non-serving RAT. During the cleared time slots, the timing is acquired and the identity of the base station is verified.
