A method including determining that a memory unit is available for a channel for communication between a storage controller and a non-volatile storage device, the memory unit being for temporary storage for encoded data for transmission through the channel; allocating the memory unit to that channel; and updating a memory mapping entry corresponding to the memory unit. The memory mapping entry is stored in the storage controller. Updating a memory mapping entry may be based on reading/write tasks. The memory mapping entry may indicate a cross channel status, an operation mode and an identifier of the channel. The method may include determining the channel being stuck due to memory shortage and mapping more memory units to the channel.

Systems and methods for an ECC architecture with memory mapping

Systems, apparatus and methods are provided for providing an error correction code (ECC) architecture with flexible memory mapping. An apparatus may include an error correction code (ECC) engine, a multi-channel interface for one or more non-volatile storage devices, a memory including a plurality of memory units, a storage containing a plurality of mapping entries to indicate allocation status of the plurality of memory units and a memory mapping manager. The plurality of memory units may be coupled to the ECC engine and the multi-channel interface. The memory mapping manager may be configured to control allocation of the plurality of memory units and set allocation status in the plurality of mapping entries.

An apparatus may comprise control circuitry configured to receive a status report that a decoding task has failed, determine that a higher priority is needed for a re-decoding task, generate a NAND read task having a second priority level higher than a first priority level of the failed decoding task, and generate an ECC re-decoding task having the second priority level.

Systems and methods for an ECC architecture with prioritized task queues

Cell timing is detected by first trying to detect a target handover cell through detecting a primary synchronization channel (P-SCH) followed by a common pilot channel (CPICH). If that fails, N number of retrials is performed using a full-window search on the CPICH. The full-window CPICH search is performed blindly, without any slot timing information from the P-SCH. Performance is improved while maintaining the benefits of faster acquisition methods in good channel conditions. The full-window search is more time consuming, but takes advantage of the stronger CPICH transmission. In good channel conditions, a mobile device can proceed quickly with the normal method of timing acquisition. With failure, the mobile device can switch to the longer search which has a higher probability of successfully completing the hard handover procedure. The overall effect is a higher success rate of hard handovers without a uniform increase of time spent in cell timing acquisition.

A rake receiver finger assignor is configured to assign a rake receiver finger to a time offset between identified signal path time offsets in accordance with a concentration of identified signal paths from a transmitter to a rake receiver. In accordance with the exemplary embodiment, a number of identified signal paths having time offsets within a time window are observed to determine the concentration of signal paths identified by a path searcher. If the number of identified signal paths indicates a concentrated distribution of signal paths such as during a fat path condition, at least one rake finger is assigned between at a time offset between two identified signal paths.

Vectors representing objects in n-dimensional space are approximated by local polar coordinates on partitioned cells of the data space in response to a query, e.g., a query data vector entered with a request to find 'k' nearest neighbors to the query vector. A set of candidate near neighbors is generated using the approximations, with the local polar coordinates being independent of the dimensionality of the data space. Then, an answer set of near neighbors is returned in response to the query. Thus, the present invention acts as a filter to reduce the number of actual data vectors in the data set that must be considered in responding to the query.

A system and method for improving the effectiveness of web advertising by allowing a user to return and request a previously displayed ad that appeals to the user. Generally, the system employs an intelligent browser cache maintained within a user's terminal to keep web pages in cache and maintain information about hyperlinks contained therein. Furthermore, the system allows for the storing of ads in a bookmark memory without clicking on the ads. The bookmark memory is either permanently maintained or temporarily stored for a predetermined time period at the user's terminal to allow the user view all the stored ads at a later time. The system further includes an algorithm for computing the differences between previously visited pages stored in the intelligent browser cache and a new page in terms of their hyperlinks. Presented to the user in separate windows are all the ads from both the old and new pages to aid the user in deciding whether to click and visit a different page or to save the displayed page for later use. Finally, the system permits the user to request for ads previously displayed at a particular position by pointing his mouse to the current ad at such a location.

System and method for improving the effectiveness of web advertising

A system, method and program product for computer program development. A new computer program to be developed is outlined and the outline organized to identify required modules. Required modules are provided to the system, which categorizes them and posts a list of required modules with corresponding requirements on, for example, a dedicated web site. Module requirements may include module specifications, a corresponding price and a deadline. Software developers intending to participate may provide an intention to submit. If fewer than two developers intend to submit module candidates for one or more required modules, the computer program outline may be reorganized to encourage more participants. For each required module where at least two module candidates are received, the candidates are tested for compliance with corresponding module requirements. A module candidate is selected for each required module for inclusion as a module included in the software package and payment is transferred to developers of the selected module candidates. The selected module, candidates may be included in the computer program and the computer program may be tested.
