A topology definition is generated from the query that specifies one or more source nodes and at least one processing node, wherein the processing node is specified in the topology to output a stream of data objects corresponding to the data object identifiers and a post-processing node according to the post-processing function prototype, wherein the post-processing node is specified in the topology to receive a stream of data objects output by the processing node, and is specified in the topology to output one or more modified data objects. The topology definition is then provided to a real-time stream computing system for execution.

A generalized testing framework for testing a RESTful web service defines test cases that described RESTful operations on resource object and associated data in configuration files generates HTTP requests to the web service based upon a test case and receives corresponding responses, creates expected responses, and filters fields of interest from the actual and expected responses, and compares the filtered responses to determine whether they match. Expected responses are automatically created during runtime by mapping input data and RESTful API operations to a resource object based upon the test case, avoiding the necessity of predicting responses in advance. Test cases may be readily changed or adapted to different Restful web services by changing configuration files.

Data to be submitted to a remote node is selectively protected. In various embodiments, an indication is received to protect a data value that is to be submitted, using a browser, to a remote node. A security key that is associated with the remote node is determined automatically. The data value is selectively encrypted using the security key. The encrypted data value is provided to the browser to be submitted to the remote node.
