The electronic device includes: a processing unit configured to perform discrete Fourier transform spreading on data to be transmitted to obtain a spread signal, perform subcarrier mapping on the spread signal, perform spectrum shaping on subcarriers by using a spectrum shaping factor to obtain a shaped signal, and obtain a non-orthogonal Faster-Than-Nyquist signal according to the shaped signal; and a transmitting unit configured to transmit the non-orthogonal Faster-Than-Nyquist signal.
