A web server includes a servlet and a pluggable API firewall filter coupled to the servlet. The pluggable filter protects the web server from content based attacks by rejecting messages received from a client device. The pluggable filter includes a .jar, and the .jar is placed into a class path of the web server or packaged into a target web application archive (WAR).

Pluggable API firewall filter

A system that authorizes access to a resource by a client validates the client and generates a Security Assertion Markup Language ('SAML') assertion for the valid client. The system then sends an access request with the SAML assertion to a OAuth server. In response, the OAuth server returns an access token for the resource to the client.

Identity management and authentication system for resource access

A system and method can support a virtual private network based on a public telecommunication infrastructure. The virtual private network can receive a request from a caller for place a call to a callee via the virtual private network. The virtual private network can obtain at least one of presence status and location information of the callee. Then, the virtual private network can allow the caller to make a decision on whether or not to proceed with the call. The public telecommunication infrastructure can be based on a legacy network and an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network, and the virtual private network can obtain information from both the legacy network and the IMS network via a service broker.
