Described herein are systems, devices, and methods for non-invasive pregnancy testing. The systems, devices, and methods can be used to provide pregnancy status information of a subject by detecting cardiovascular activity of a fetus in the subject. Subjects can include ruminants, ungulates, and humans.

The present disclosure relates to compounds that are capable of inhibiting the mitochondrial pyruvate carrier and promoting hair growth. The disclosure further relates to methods of promoting hair growth or treating conditions or disorders affecting hair growth, such as baldness or alopecia.

Compositions and methods for modulating hair growth

A tunable filter with wide tuning range and high out-of-band rejection is achieved with a tunable bandpass filter and a number of cascaded, fixed frequency Lame-Mode Resonators (LMRs) notch filters or other resonators. In some embodiments, the filter can be implemented with all of the elements on an integrated circuit, saving space for use in applications such as mobile phones or other mobile communication devices.

A micro-electromechanical platform and array system and methods for identifying microbial species with single molecule electrical conductance measurements are provided. The electromechanical platform has a two-tier actuation mechanism with a long stroke provided by a comb drive and a fine stroke provided by an in-plane flexural actuator. The platform is capable of making contact with a single-molecule, applying a bias, measuring the current, and performing a large number of measurements for statistical analysis. The system is capable of detecting any microbial species without requiring enzymatic amplification by detecting specific RNA sequences, for example. With oligonucleotide target molecules, the conductance is extremely sensitive to the sequence so even single-nucleotide polymorphisms can be identified. The system can also discern between subspecies using the same DNA probe. The system provides reliable, efficient, and inexpensive detection and species-level identification of microorganisms in complex detecting environments.

On-chip platform for single-molecule electrical conductance measurements

The present disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices to infer changes in pulmonary artery pressure in a subject using Doppler radar. A portable, non-invasive device for non-invasively measuring right ventricular cardiac motion that can be used in a subject's home can infer pulmonary artery pressure changes to increase patient compliance and mitigate the likelihood of heart decompensation. A mobile pulmonary artery pressure monitor can be especially useful to patients with congestive heart failure who are elderly, incapacitated, or do not have easy access to a clinic, doctor's office, or hospital.

The disclosed embodiments provide an absorptive coupled-line bandpass filter. This bandpass filter includes a first port, which is coupled to a first absorptive stub, and a second port, which is coupled to a second absorptive stub. The bandpass filter also includes a coupled-line bandpass section coupled between the first and second ports, wherein the coupled-line bandpass section comprises a set of one or more parallel strip line resonators, which are coupled together in series and are coupled to the first and second ports through overlapping coupled-line sections, wherein at a center frequency of a passband for the absorptive coupled-line bandpass filter, the first and second absorptive stubs appear as open circuits, and outside of the passband, the first and second absorptive stubs appear as matched loads to ground and contribute to absorption of out-of-band signals.

The present disclosure describes a method and device to monitor the heart of a subject using radio signals. Availability of a portable heart monitor that can be used in a subject's home can increase patient compliance and improve diagnosis rates of cardiac conditions. A mobile heart monitor can be especially useful to those subjects who are elderly, incapacitated, or do not have easy access to a clinic, doctor's office, or hospital.

The disclosed embodiments provide a system that implements a low-aperture-delay sampler. The system includes a sampler input, which receives an input signal, and a clock input, which receives a clock signal. The system also includes: a first sampling channel, which samples the input signal when the clock signal is low and is associated with a previous clock phase; and a second sampling channel, which samples the input signal when a rising edge is received in the clock signal, wherein the rising edge is associated with a present clock phase. The system additionally includes a combining mechanism, which combines outputs of the first and second sampling channels to produce a sampler output with a significantly reduced aperture delay.

An interconnect is described that comprises an interconnect channel, and two channel couplers coupled to the two ends of the interconnect channel through respective stoppers that provide a gap between the channel couplers and the interconnect channel. Each channel coupler can comprise a coplanar waveguide, a microstrip line, and a patch-antenna based coupler. The interconnect can enable communication between integrated circuits using signal waves having a frequency between 100 GHz and 3 THz.

A tunable cavity resonator includes a housing, a post, and a controllably variable capacitive coupling. The housing defines an interior and has at least one side wall, a first end, and a second end. The post is located within the interior and extends from the first end to the second end. The post and the housing define a resonating cavity. The controllably variable capacitive coupling is disposed in the housing.

A tunable cavity resonator includes a substrate, a cap structure, and a tuning assembly. The cap structure extends from the substrate, and at least one of the substrate and the cap structure defines a resonator cavity. The tuning assembly is positioned at least partially within the resonator cavity. The tuning assembly includes a plurality of fixed-fixed MEMS beams configured for controllable movement relative to the substrate between an activated position and a deactivated position in order to tune a resonant frequency of the tunable cavity resonator.
