A power connector includes an insulating body and a power terminal module. The power terminal module includes a first power terminal and a second power terminal. The first power terminal includes a first elastic arm, a second elastic arm, a first abutting arm and a second abutting arm. The second power terminal includes a third elastic arm, a fourth elastic arm and a space between the third elastic arm and the fourth elastic arm. The first elastic arm and the second elastic arm extend into the space. The first abutting arm abuts against the third elastic arm. The second abutting arm abuts against the fourth elastic arm. As a result, the power connector has greater plugging force and better heat dissipation performance.

An electrical connector includes an insulating body, a terminal module and a shielding piece. The terminal module includes an insulating block and a number of conductive terminals. An electrical connector includes an insulating body and a number of conductive terminals. The insulating body includes a mating slot. Each conductive terminal includes an elastic mating portion protruding into the mating slot and an end portion extending from the elastic mating portion. The insulating body is provided with a number of limiting blocks for limiting the conductive terminals and a terminal limiting slot located between two adjacent limiting blocks. At least one limiting block includes a limiting protrusion protruding into the terminal limiting slot for limiting a side surface of the end portion of the conductive terminal. The insulating body also includes a relief slot in communication with the terminal limiting slot. When the conductive terminal needs to be deformed, the end portion of the conductive terminal can move unimpeded in the relief slot.

A terminal module includes a number of conductive terminals. Each conductive terminal includes a contact portion. The conductive terminals include differential signal terminals. Each differential signal terminal includes a first extending portion, a torsion portion, and a second extending portion perpendicular to the first extending portion. The differential signal terminals include a first signal terminal and a second signal terminal. Most of the two first extending portions of the differential signal terminals are narrow-side coupled, and small parts are wide-side coupled. The second extending portions of the differential signal terminals are narrow-sided coupled. The present disclosure also discloses a backplane connector having the terminal module. Compared with the prior art, the present disclosure can make the differential signal terminals tightly coupled, thereby stabilizing the insertion loss.

A shielding shell used to at least partially surround signal terminals includes a first side wall, a second side wall and a third side wall. The second side wall connects the first side wall and the third side wall. The first side wall and the third side wall are disposed face to face. An end of at least one of the first side wall, the second side wall and the third side wall includes a deflection portion bent inwardly. The deflection portion is used to guide insertion of the shielding shell into a mating connector. As a result, a better shielding effect on the signal terminals can be provided. Besides, it is easy to guide insertion of the shielding shell into the mating connector.

A terminal module includes a number of conductive terminals and an insulating frame. The conductive terminal includes a contact portion, a connection portion and a transition portion connected to the contact portion. The conductive terminals include differential signal terminals, a first ground terminal and a second ground terminal. The contact portions of the differential signal terminals and the connection portions of the differential signal terminals are provided separately. As a result, the structure of the contact portions and the connection portions are simplified for easy manufacturing. The disclosure also discloses a backplane connector having the terminal module.

A backplane connector includes a housing, a number of terminal modules assembled to the housing, and a mounting block. The housing includes a base, a first side wall and a second side wall. Each terminal module includes a first signal terminal and a second signal terminal. The first signal terminal has a first mounting foot, and the second signal terminal has a second mounting foot. The housing includes a receiving groove at a bottom end of the base. The mounting block is received in the receiving groove. The mounting block is made of electroplated plastic. The mounting block has an opening for the first mounting foot and the second mounting foot to extend through. As a result, the backplane connector has a better shielding effect.

An electrical connector, comprising an insulating housing, a housing electromagnetic shielding member, and a plurality of terminal modules. The insulating housing comprises a first surface, a second surface, a plurality of terminal plugging hole groups, and a plurality of shield accommodating grooves. The first surface is opposite to the second surface. The plurality of terminal plugging hole groups are arranged at intervals. Each of the terminal plugging hole groups comprises a plurality of ground terminal plugging holes and a plurality of signal terminal plugging holes penetrating the first surface and the second surface. Each of the shield accommodating grooves is formed on the second surface and is disposed on one side of the corresponding terminal plugging hole group. The housing electromagnetic shielding member is embedded on the second surface and comprises a plurality of connecting bumps. The connector terminal includes an insulation body and multiple terminal bodies. Each of the multiple terminal bodies includes: a base part, an elastic arm and a welding part. The base part includes a first base part and a second base part, the first base part and the second base part form a bending structure, a first end of the first base part is embedded in the insulation body, a second end of the first base part is connected to a first end of the second base part, and a second end of the second base part is embedded in the insulation body. The elastic arm is connected to the first end of the first base part and extends out of a first end of the insulation body. The welding part is connected to the second end of the second base part and extends out of a second end of the insulation body.

Connector terminal and manufacturing method thereof

A backplane connector includes a housing and a number of terminal modules assembled to the housing. The housing includes a base, a first side wall and a second side wall. The base, the first side wall and the second side wall jointly form a receiving space. The terminal module includes a first signal terminal and a second signal terminal. The housing includes a number of insulating protrusions integrally extending from the base. The insulating protrusions extend into the receiving space. The terminal modules are assembled in the insulating protrusions. Compared with the prior art, the insulating protrusions of the present disclosure is integrally formed with the base, thereby improving the structural strength of the housing and improving the durability of the backplane connector.

A terminal module includes a number of conductive terminals. The conductive terminal includes a contact portion, a transition portion connected with the contact portion and a connection portion electrically connected with the transition portion. The conductive terminals include differential signal terminals, a first ground terminal and a second ground terminal. The terminal module further includes a fixing block fixed on the transfer portions of the first signal terminal and the second signal terminal. A terminal module includes a number of conductive terminals. The conductive terminals include a first signal terminal and a second signal terminal. A contact portion of the first signal terminal includes a first contact arm, a second contact arm and a first clamping space. The first contact arm includes a first contact end portion and a first contact arm body portion connected with the first contact end portion. The first contact arm body portion includes a first end connected to the first contact end portion and a second end opposite to the first end. From the first end to the second end, a width of the first contact arm body portion gradually increases. As a result, it is beneficial to improve the contact impedance when it is mated with a mating backplane connector. The present disclosure also discloses a backplane connector having the terminal module.
