The present disclosure relates to copper-containing molecular sieve catalysts that are highly suitable for the treatment of exhaust containing NOx pollutants. The copper-containing molecular sieve catalysts contain ion-exchanged copper as Cuand Cu(OH), and DRIFT spectroscopy of the catalyst exhibits perturbed T-O-T vibrational peaks corresponding to the Cuand Cu(OH). In spectra taken of the catalytic materials, a ratio of the Cuto the Cu(OH)peak integration areas preferably can be &#x2265;1. The copper-containing molecular sieve catalysts are aging stable such that the peak integration area percentage of the Cupeak (area Cu/(area Cu+area Cu(OH))) increases by &#x2264;20% upon aging at 800&#xb0; C. for 16 hours in the presence of 10% HO/air, compared to the fresh state.

Selective catalytic reduction articles and systems

The invention provides a catalyst composition, including a mixture of catalytically active particles and a magnetic material, such as superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles, capable of inductive heating in response to an applied alternating electromagnetic field. The catalytically active particles will typically include a base metal, platinum group metal, oxide of base metal or platinum group metal, or combination thereof, and will be adapted for use in various catalytic systems, such as diesel oxidation catalysts, catalyzed soot filters, lean NOx traps, selective catalytic reduction catalysts, ammonia oxidation catalysts, or three-way catalysts. Catalyst composition comprising magnetic material adapted for inductive heating

The present invention provides methods for low temperature desulfating sulfur-poisoned SCR catalysts, and emission control systems adapted to apply such desulfating methods, in order to regenerate catalytic NOx conversion activity. The methods are adapted for treating an SCR catalyst to desorb sulfur from the surface of the SCR catalyst and increase NOx conversion activity of the SCR catalyst, the treating step including treating the SCR catalyst with a gaseous stream comprising a reductant for a first treatment time period and at a first treatment temperature, wherein the first treatment temperature is about 350&#xb0; C. or less, followed by a second treatment time period and a second treatment temperature higher than the first treatment temperature, wherein the molar ratio of reductant to NOx during the treating step is about 1.05:1 or higher.

Desulfation method for SCR catalyst

Described are catalysts effective to abate NO, hydrocarbons, and carbon monoxide from a gasoline engine exhaust gas. Such catalysts include a substrate having a first and second material disposed thereon, the first material effective to catalyze selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides in the presence of ammonia and the second material effective to abate hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide, the first material comprising a molecular sieve promoted with copper and/or iron in a low loading, the second material comprising at least one oxide of Ni, Fe, Mn, Co, and Cu on a support selected from oxides of Ce, Ce&#x2014;Zr, Zr, Mn, Pr and combinations thereof. Also described are gasoline engine exhaust gas treatment systems and methods of treating exhaust gas from a gasoline engine.

Exhaust gas treatment catalysts

Described is a selective catalytic reduction catalyst comprising a zeolitic framework material of silicon and aluminum atoms, wherein a fraction of the silicon atoms are isomorphously substituted with a tetravalent metal. The catalyst can include a promoter metal such that the catalyst effectively promotes the reaction of ammonia with nitrogen oxides to form nitrogen and HO selectively over a temperature range of 150 to 650&#xb0; C. In another aspect, described is a selective catalytic reduction composite comprising an SCR catalyst material and an ammonia storage material comprising a transition metal having an oxidation state of IV. The SCR catalyst material promotes the reaction of ammonia with nitrogen oxides to form nitrogen and HO selectively over a temperature range of 150&#xb0; C. to 600&#xb0; C., and the SCR catalyst material is effective to store ammonia at temperatures of 400&#xb0; C. and above. A method for selectively reducing nitrogen oxides, and a method for simultaneously selectively reducing nitrogen oxide and storing ammonia are also described. Additionally, an exhaust gas treatment system is also described.

Molecular sieve catalyst compositions, catalytic composites, systems, and methods

The present disclosure is directed to SCR catalysts, methods for their manufacture, and methods of treating emissions in an exhaust stream with them. The SCR catalysts are produced from pillaring and ion exchanging synthetic phyllosilicates, particularly hydrothermally synthesized phyllosilicates.

Described is a selective catalytic reduction material comprising a spherical particle including an agglomeration of crystals of a molecular sieve. The catalyst is a crystalline material that is effective to catalyze the selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides in the presence of a reductant at temperatures between 200&#xb0; C. and 600&#xb0; C. A method for selectively reducing nitrogen oxides and an exhaust gas treatment system are also described.

Molecular sieve catalyst compositions, catalyst composites, systems, and methods

Described are exhaust gas treatment systems for treatment of a gasoline engine exhaust gas stream containing NOx, particulate matter, and sulfur. The exhaust gas treatment system comprises: one or more catalytic articles selected from a three-way conversion catalyst (TWC), a lean NOx trap (LNT), and an integrated LNT-TWC; a platinum-containing catalytic article downstream from the one or more catalytic articles; and one or more selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalytic articles immediately downstream from the platinum-containing catalytic article, the one or more SCR catalytic articles including a molecular sieve. The system stabilizes the SCR catalytic article from poisoning by sulfur.
