Antifoulant compositions and methods are used for inhibiting fouling on structural parts of a system exposed to a fluid hydrocarbon or petrochemical stream. Polyamine antifoulants are added to such systems. The polyamine antifoulants may be conjointly used with dispersants and/or fatty acids. The fatty acids have been found to reduce thermal degradation of the polyamine antifoulants.

Described herein are systems and methods for evaluating and mitigating the wax risks of a given hydrocarbon composition such as crude oil. The disclosed systems and methods enable rapid and ready prediction of wax risks using algorithms based on a small sample of the hydrocarbon composition. The wax risks are predicted using predictive models developed from machine learning. The disclosed systems and methods include mitigation strategies for wax risks that can include chemical additives, operation changes, and/or hydrocarbon blend.

An oil composition includes an oil and an effective amount of a wax inhibitor that includes at least one modified alpha-olefin maleic anhydride copolymer of the formula: wherein R1 is selected from hydrogen or hydrocarbyl groups containing 12-60 carbon atoms and an average carbon atom number of R1, if not hydrogen, in the copolymer is in a range from 20 to 32, R2 is selected from hydrocarbyl groups containing 6-12 carbon atoms, and n is a number of repeating units ranging from 1 to 100.

The invention relates to a polymer derived from: reaction of glycidyl (meth)acrylate, allyl glycidyl ether or [(vinyloxy)methyl]oxirane with ammonia or primary amine to obtain a mixture of monomer compounds; reaction of the mixture of monomer compounds with at least one of acrylic acid, vinyl alcohol, vinyl acetate, acrylamide, methylacrylic acid, and methylacrylamide to obtain an intermediate polymer; and reaction of the intermediate polymer with a dithiocarbamic acid salt.
