An electrical connector includes an insulative housing and two rows of contacts retained in the housing, and a metallic shielding plate assembled in the housing and located between the two rows of contacts wherein the shielding plate includes a pair of spring fingers extending from the front edge into the mating cavity in front of the shielding plate, and a plurality of notches located around the pair of spring fingers and equipped with barbed structures extending into the notches so as to grasp the corresponding ribs of the housing so as to stabilize the whole shielding plate in the housing.

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a plurality of contacts assembled in the housing, opposite metal top and bottom shells attached upon opposite top face and bottom face of the housing, and a metallic shielding plate inserted into the housing and between two rows of contacts. The top shell, the bottom shell and the shielding plate have corresponding ears secured together in an intimately sandwiched manner.

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a plurality of contacts retained in the housing, a metallic shell enclosing the housing, and the magnets retained by the shell. The housing includes a pair of longitudinal walls and a pair of end walls commonly forming a mating cavity. The contacts are disposed in the longitudinal walls with corresponding contacting sections exposed in the mating cavity. The shell forms receiving cavities to intimately receive the corresponding magnets, respectively. The magnets are secured to the shell by spot-welding so as to not only assure reliable securement therebetween but also keep the completeness of both the magnet and the shell for superior magnetic and shielding effect thereof.

The connector includes an insulative housing, two rows of contacts retained in the housing, and a metallic shell enclosing the housing. The contact includes a contacting section extending into the mating cavity, and a connecting section exposed outside of the housing. An insulative block/spacer is attached to a back side of the housing integrally with a metallic shielding/grounding blade therein. The shielding/grounding blade includes a pair of securing legs at two ends in the transverse direction. A pair of grounding bars are soldered to the outer conductors of the two rows of wires, respectively. Each of the grounding bars includes a pair of securing legs at two ends in the transverse direction. Both the securing legs of the shielding/grounding blade and those of the grounding bars are secured to interior surfaces of the two side walls of the outer shell.

Electrical connector with integral securement

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a plurality of contacts retained in the housing, a metallic shielding shell, and a cable sub-assembly. The contact includes a front mating section and a rear connecting section. The cable sub-assembly includes a plurality of wires and a grounding unit. The wire includes an inner/transmission conductor, an inner insulator, an outer/grounding conductor/layer, and an outer insulator sequentially coaxially arranged with one another. The connecting sections of the contacts are mechanically and electrically connected to the inner conductors of the corresponding wires. The grounding unit includes a grounding bar mechanically and electrically connected to the grounding layers of the corresponding wires and with forwardly extending legs for connection to the shielding shell. Also included is a central shielding plate with extensions at opposite ends for connection to the grounding bar.
