The present invention relates to methods and apparatuses for providing selective network access, wherein a cell type indication is provided based on at least one of a preamble and a header portion of a broadcast signal. At the receiving end, it is checked based on at least one of the preamble and the header portion, whether broadcast signals are received from different first and second cell types. The first cell type is selected for network access, if both broadcast signals from the first and second cell types are received with sufficient strength.

Cell-selective network access

The present invention proposes methods and apparatuses and computer program products for dynamic transmission set indication in scenarios in which a terminal is enabled for single cell transmission SiC as well as for coordinated multipoint transmission CoMP. To this extent, appropriate information is being fed back from the terminal to the base station via feedback signaling channels. The decision on which transmission mode defined by respective transmission set definitions is used can be taken by the terminal or, in a modified scenario, by the base station, based on the information fed back.

Dynamic transmission set indication

An apparatus, method and computer program product for supporting dynamic multipoint communication configuration stations include defining at least two different communication transmission sets for cellular-based communication between base station and terminal, wherein the communication transmission sets are related to a downlink reference signal configuration; and assigning a communication transmission set for use in a current transmission related to the cellular-based communication.

Supporting dynamic multipoint communication configuration

The specification and drawings present a new method, apparatus and software related product for using non-codebook based CSI feedback (e.g., in LTE wireless systems) using selection by a UE of one or more of the plurality of logical antenna ports based on a predefined procedure (e.g., SNR or SINR measurement), but without selecting any codeword (precoder) by the UE. This allows not to involve any standardization of codebooks for precoding due to reliance on an alternative CSI feedback framework which does not rely on standardized codebooks. The exemplary embodiments described herein aim at development of 3GPP LTE Release-12.

Non-codebook based channel state information feedback

A User Equipment Apparatus is described, which include a Load Factor Determining Device and a Calculating Device. The Load Factor Determining Device is adapted for determining at least one load factor value of a neighbor sector. The Calculating Device is adapted for calculating a transmit power of the User Equipment Apparatus such that the at least one load factor value of a sector is considered.

Load aware power controlling

A method includes allocating channels in a fast-feedback channel region for a plurality of devices, and transmitting to the plurality of devices at least one bitmap defining fast-feedback uplink channel allocations for individual ones of the plurality of devices. In one embodiment a plurality of bitmaps are transmitted, the plurality of bit maps together informing individual ones of the plurality of devices of permission to use none, one or more than one particular fast-feedback channel. In this case each bitmap includes a plurality n of bit positions corresponding to n indices, where each device is identified by an associated one of the n indices, and where a bit at an index value p in a first bitmap and a bit at the same index value p in a second bitmap, when concatenated together, equal a number of fast-feedback uplink channels that are allocated to a particular device associated with the index value p.

An approach is provided for power control. The sum of path gain relating to non-serving sectors is determined. Power spectrum density (PSD) is determined according to a power control scheme. A power level is set based on the power spectrum density (PSD).

Method and apparatus for providing power control of a wireless terminal

According to one example embodiment, a method may include receiving, by a first femto base station via a femto base station air interface, at least one neighbor preamble from at least one neighbor femto base station. The method may further include sending, by the first femto base station to a macro base station via a guided (DSL) Internet connection, an interference report, the interference report being based at least in part on the at least one neighbor preamble received from the at least one neighbor femto base station. The method may further include receiving, by the first femto base station from the macro base station via the guided Internet connection, a resource allocation message. The method may further include sending, by the first femto base station via the femto base station air interface, a first femto base station preamble, the first femto base station preamble being sent at a time determined at least in part by the resource allocation message.

A method is described which includes allocating transmission resources for transmitting data packets. The allocation of transmission resources includes a periodic allocation of the transmission resources that is applicable to a plurality of frames. The allocation of transmission resources includes an allocation of transmission resources for a first transmission of each HARQ process during the plurality of frames. The method includes receiving an indication of an allocation of transmission resources for data packets in a plurality of frames. Receiving and/or transmitting packets during the plurality of frames using the allocation of transmission resources is also included in the method.
