A fluid-tight envelope () encloses an RFID chip (), a first array of conductors (-) on an internal surface (), and a second array of conductors (-) fixed to an opposing internal surface () of a flexible outer wall () of the envelope (). The outer wall () is urged inwardly by ambient pressure to press the conductors of the second array (-) into electrical contact with the conductors of first array (-) to thereby form an antenna (). Fluid pressure in the chamber () that holds the antenna () tends to displace the outer wall () outwardly to thereby separate conductors of the first and second arrays (--).

Microwave-tolerant RFID tag

There is provided an antenna for a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag, which includes a loop antenna, an amplifying antenna, an additional antenna structure to modify impedance of the entire antenna. The additional antenna structure has a first electromagnetic coupling with the amplifying antenna and a second electromagnetic coupling with the loop antenna.

A method of controlling a guide machine and a navigation system. The navigation system includes: a plurality of signal sources deployed in a predetermined area; a guide machine including a signal receiver arranged to receive electromagnetic signals emitted from one or more of the plurality of signal sources; and a processor arranged to process the electromagnetic signals to identify the locations of the signal sources, and thereby to determine a current position of the guide machine with reference to the locations of the signal sources; and the processor is further arranged to determine a path for the guide machine to travel from the current position to a destination location in the predetermined area.
