The present invention herein provides a disinfectant composition containing a) an effective amount of a hydrogen peroxide source, b) a blend of at least one aromatic alcohol and at least one glycol or glycol ether, c) at least one nonionic and/or anionic surfactant and d) at least one acid. Furthermore a method of using the disinfectant composition is also provided, whereby the composition can be applied to any surface and effectively kill a majority of tuberculosis and/ormicrobes; resulting in a >5 log reduction at a contact time of 5 minutes or less.

Hydrogen peroxide disinfectant composition

Wiping compositions are disclosed well suited for destroying various different microorganism very quickly. The wiping composition contains a tertiary alkyl amine biocide in combination with one or more other components. The wiping composition, for instance, may contain a pH adjustor, chelating agent, one or more surfactants, and water as a liquid carrier. In one embodiment, the composition can be formulated to contain various organic solvents that increase efficacy against mycobacteria. The wiping composition is particularly well suited to being impregnated into a disposable wipe.

A composition having biocidal properties is disclosed. The composition includes a first biocide, optionally a second biocide, and a biocide enhancing agent. The first biocide may comprise an isothiazolin. The second biocide may comprise a pyrithione. The biocide enhancing agent may comprise an amine, an amine salt, an amine oxide, or mixtures thereof. The amine compound may have a carbon chain length of at least six carbon atoms, such as at least eight carbon atoms.

Enhanced preservative

A composition having biocidal properties is disclosed. The composition includes a biocide in combination with a film forming component. In one embodiment, for instance, the biocide comprises an amine while the film forming component comprises one or more polyvinyl alcohol polymers. The disinfectant composition forms a film on a surface that is abrasion resistant and will provide biocidal activity over an extended period of time, while being completely water dispersible.

Disinfectant composition having residual biocidal properties

Disclosed is a method for inhibiting the growth of mold on building materials by application onto and/or incorporation into the building material of a mold-inhibiting composition comprising dehydroacetic acid or a salt thereof and, optionally, an additional fungicidal agent such as a quaternary ammonium compound. A preferred application of the method is the inhibition of mold growth on plasterboard (drywall).

The N,N&#x2032;-bisalkanoylethylenediamines are new compositions of matter containing from 8 to 14 carbons of the alkanoyl group having a particle size range from about 90 to 150 &#x3bc;m, preferably from about 120 to 140 &#x3bc;m.

Cellulose fiber-plastic composition containing a lubricant

The invention relates to a polymer-cellulosic fiber composition comprising a polymer, a cellulosic fiber, and a quaternary ammonium alkyl salt wherein the latter imparts antimicrobial properties to the composition and functions as a lubricant during the formation of the composition. The quaternary ammonium alkyl salts may be alkyl carboxylate, alkyl sulfate, alkyl sulphonate, alkyl phosphate, or alkyl phosphite. Certain of the salts are new compositions of matter. The method of extruding and the extrudate are also claimed.

Antimicrobial lubricant for wood fiber-plastic composites

This invention is directed to an extrudable compound, an extrusion method using a polymer, a cellulosic fiber, and at least one lubricant selected from the group consisting of ethoxylated esters of hydantoins, ethoxylated esters of sorbitol and sorbitan, and ethylene bisamides made from fatty acids containing 6&#x2013;10 carbons and composites manufactured through such processes which simulate conventional wood products. Another embodiment of the invention is directed to a composition containing polymer, a cellulosic fiber from an agricultural waste product and a lubricant containing a mixture of an alkylene bisamide derived from a C&#x2013;Cis fatty acid and an alkaline earth salt of a fatty acid.
