A phased array antenna that maximizes antenna gain and minimizes or avoids grating/side lobes issues. The phased array antenna includes a receiver antenna array including one or more groups of receiver radiating elements, where each group of receiver radiating elements includes a first receiver subarray of receiver radiating elements and a second receiver subarray of receiver radiating elements. The phased array antenna further includes receiver core chips, including, for each of the one or more groups of receiver radiating elements, a first receiver core chip associated with the first receiver subarray and a second receiver core chip associated with the second receiver subarray. Additionally, the phased array antenna includes receiver feeding networks, including, for each of the one or more groups of receiver radiating elements, a first receiver feeding network including first feed lines and a second receiver feeding network including second feed lines.

Phased array antenna

A method of spatial modulation using an antenna array including radiating elements having power amplifiers communicatively coupled thereto. An amplitude of an output signal to be formed in space is determined by the antenna array based on an input signal. Output amplitude levels for the radiating elements are determined based on the amplitude of the output signal and a current output amplitude level of the antenna array. The first signal(s) for a first subarray of the antenna array and the second signal(s) for a second subarray of the antenna array are generated based on the input signal. The output amplitude levels are assigned to the power amplifiers of the radiating elements. The first signal(s) are sent to radiating elements of the first subarray and the second signal(s) are sent to radiating elements of the second subarray for transmission therefrom to form a combined signal in space as the output signal.

Spatial modulation system and method thereof

There is provided a beam steerable antenna system including: an antenna array including a plurality of first radiating elements; a first phase control section coupled to the plurality of first radiating elements, the first phase control section being configured to control a phase of signals from the plurality of first radiating elements to output first phase controlled signals; a first combiner coupled to the first phase control section, the first combiner being configured to combine the first phase controlled signals to output a first combined signal; a first frequency converter coupled to the first combiner, the first frequency converter being configured to downconvert a frequency of the first combined signal to output a first downconverted signal; and a second phase control section coupled to the first frequency converter, the second phase control section being configured to control a phase of the first downconverted signal to output a second phase controlled signal. There is also provided a method of manufacturing the beam steerable antenna system, and a method of beam steering an antenna array.

Beam steerable antenna system, method of manufacturing thereof and method of beam steering an antenna array

A compact wideband single feed circularly polarized antenna is provided. The circularly polarized antenna may include a ground plane. The circularly polarized antenna may include a radiating patch with an embedded ring-shaped slot. The circularly polarized antenna may include a via that shorts a round section of the radiating patch surrounded by the ring-shaped slot to the ground plane. The circularly polarized antenna may include a coaxial feed. The inner conductive material of the coaxial feed may be connected to the radiating patch and the outer conductive material of the coaxial feed may touch the ground plane. The circularly polarized antenna may include a slit-slotted parasitic square patch.

Compact wideband high gain circularly polarized antenna

There is provided an antenna structure for a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader. The antenna structure includes a substrate, and an antenna structure disposed on the substrate. The antenna includes a peripheral frame portion, a first strip section disposed at a first side of the peripheral frame portion, and a second strip section disposed at a second side of the peripheral frame portion. In particular, the first strip section and the second strip section each includes multiple spaced-apart strip portions extending from a first part of the peripheral frame portion to a second part of the peripheral frame portion. There is also provided a method of manufacturing the antenna structure, an RFID reader system including the antenna structure, and an RFID system including the RFID reader system and an RFID tag.
