An HVAC system may include a housing having a first wall and a second wall opposite the first wall and an evaporator disposed within a portion of the housing to cool an air flow. The portion of the housing may include an inlet and an outlet to receive and output the air flow. The HVAC system may also include a multi-configuration drain pan assembly that collects condensate formed by cooling of the air flow and may include a first drain pan and a second drain pan. The first drain pan may selectively couple to the housing in a first position or a second position, and, the second drain pan may couple to the housing in a third position or a fourth position, different from the third position, relative to the first drain pan.

A drain pan for a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a trough defining a flow path and configured to direct condensate along the flow path, a shield disposed within the trough and having a body extending across the trough, and a notch formed in the shield and positioned in the flow path to enable flow of the condensate along the flow path and through the notch.

The present disclosure relates to a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system that includes a condensate collection assembly. The condensate collection assembly includes a drain pan configured to collect condensate generated by a heat exchanger of an HVAC system. The condensate collection assembly also includes a condensate capture receptacle configured to couple to the heat exchanger and overlap with the heat exchanger relative to a direction of air flow across the heat exchanger. The condensate capture receptacle is further configured to discharge condensate to the drain pan, and to be suspended above the drain pan relative to a direction of gravity.

A heat exchanger for a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a plurality of tubes configured to direct a working fluid therethrough and defining a first section and a second section of the heat exchanger. The first section and the second section extend crosswise relative to one another. The heat exchanger also includes an end sheet coupled to an end of the first section. The end sheet includes a flange extending toward the second section.

A heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a refrigerant circuit configured to circulate refrigerant. The circuit includes a compressor, an indoor heat exchanger, an outdoor heat exchanger, and a reversing valve that transitions between a first configuration to direct the refrigerant from the compressor toward the outdoor heat exchanger and a second configuration to direct the refrigerant from the compressor toward the indoor heat exchanger. The system includes a compensator with a conduit that is part of the refrigerant circuit and configured to pass the refrigerant therethrough and a chamber disposed about the conduit. The chamber is also communicatively coupled to the refrigerant circuit, and configured to retain a portion of the refrigerant in the chamber. A coil assembly plate of the indoor heat exchanger or the outdoor heat exchanger includes a receptacle configured to receive the refrigerant charge compensator.

A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a condensate drain pan configured to be positioned beneath a heat exchanger of the HVAC system, relative to gravity, and configured to collect condensate formed via operation of the heat exchanger. The condensate drain pan comprises a drain surface, a plurality of walls extending from the drain surface to form a receptacle configured to collect the condensate, and a drain outlet formed in a wall of the plurality of walls. The condensate drain pan further comprises an air dam comprising a plurality of baffles, wherein a baffle of the plurality of baffles extends from the wall of the plurality of walls. The air dam is configured to re-direct an air flow flowing within the condensate drain pan away from the drain outlet.

A heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a condensate collection assembly having a drain pan configured to collect condensate generated by a heat exchanger of the HVAC system. The condensate collection assembly also includes a support member configured to couple to the drain pan and extend from the drain pan. Further, the condensate collection assembly includes a shield panel configured to couple to the support member and overlap with the heat exchanger relative to a direction of air flow across the heat exchanger.

A housing for a component (e.g., a heat exchanger) of a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system is disclosed that includes one or more attachment flanges and/or one or more support flanges that are integrated into the housing. The disclosed housing reduces or completely eliminates the use of separate brackets and fasteners when installing components within the housing and/or when coupling the housing to other components of the HVAC system. By dramatically reducing or eliminating these separate components, the disclosed housing designs reduce the likelihood for installation errors, as well as delays due to misplaced brackets and/or fasteners during installation. Accordingly, the disclosed housing designs enable a cost-effective solution for reducing the cost and complexity of installing HVAC system components.
