A control circuit for a flyback converter is configured to adjust a conduction time of an auxiliary switch of the flyback converter in accordance with a drain-source voltage of a main switch of the flyback converter when the main switch is turned on, in order to achieve zero-voltage switching of the main switch. The flyback converter can include: a main power stage having the main switch to control energy storage and transmission of a transformer; and a clamp circuit having an auxiliary switch to provide a release path for releasing energy of leakage inductance of the transformer.

An apparatus including: a switching converter having a main switch configured to provide power to a transformer, an auxiliary switch configured to provide a release path for leakage inductance energy of the transformer, and a clamp capacitor coupled in series with the auxiliary switch; and a control circuit configured to control the main switch to be off and the auxiliary switch to operate to discharge the clamp capacitor when in an over-voltage protection mode. An active clamp control circuit for a flyback converter can be configured to: control turn-on states of a main switch and an auxiliary switch to make the auxiliary switch turn on for a first time period in at least one switching period, and to make the main switch turn on for a second time period in each switching period, where the first and second time periods are non-overlapping periods of the switching period; and compare a peak value of an inductor current flowing through the main switch against a first threshold to adjust the first time period of the auxiliary switch when the peak value of the inductor current is greater than or equal to the first threshold, such that the first time period is directly proportional to the peak value of the inductor current.
