An insulating body for a plug connector is provided, having at least one seat for a contact, the seat being open in the peripheral direction and surrounding a receiving space for the contact over an angular range which is greater than 180 degrees and smaller than 300 degrees, and wherein at least one peripheral edge of the seat has a guide web provided thereon which is elastic in the radial direction of the seat and which has a wall thickness that is greater at the free end than in the region of the connection to the seat.

A contact carrier can be inserted into the contact carrier and removed again by a slight elastic deformation of a holding element, a detent engagement action of a detent of the holding element with a further detent of a main body of the contact carrier can be released. A particularly simple mounting and dismounting of a contact element in the contact carrier is realized. The contact carrier is constructed such that the holding element and the contact element can be inserted into the main body from an attachment side which is situated opposite a plug-in side.

Disclosed is an electrical contact element for contacting an electrical strand conductor, wherein the electrical contact element has a connecting side and a plugging side. A splicing element is provided in a connecting sleeve that forms the connecting side so as to electrically contact an electrical strand conductor in a more effective manner. The splicing element is provided for the purpose of separating out the individual strands of the conductor, contacting as large as possible a surface of the individual strands and penetrating the surface of the strands during a squeezing or crimping action. The arrangement provides a reliable, electrical contact of strand conductors in which a surface of the individual strands that is not suitable for being contacted and is poorly conductive is penetrated.
