The present application is directed to a two-component waterborne polyurethane coating composition including: a film-forming resin composition, comprising an aqueous dispersion of hydroxyl acrylic polymer particles with a core-shell structure; and a polyisocyanate crosslinker, wherein the hydroxyl acrylic polymer particles with a core-shell structure includes a shell formed by a copolymer A and an inner core formed by a copolymer B; and wherein the copolymer A has a glass transition temperature ranging from −20° C. to 60° C., the copolymer B has a glass transition temperature ranging from 20° C. to 100° C., and the hydroxyl acrylic polymer particles with a core-shell structure have a glass transition temperature ranging from 10° C. to 90° C. The present application also relates to a low gloss coating formed by the two-component waterborne polyurethane coating composition.

The UV-curable non-isocyanate polyurea polymer has one or more ethylenically unsaturated functional groups and the ethylenically unsaturated functional groups are attached to nitrogen atoms present in a backbone urea segment via &#x2014;C(=0)- linkage. The nonisocyanate polyurea polymer is prepared by: (i) providing an ethylenically unsaturated compound having one or more carboxylic acid functional groups; and (ii) reacting said ethylenically unsaturated compound having one or more carboxylic acid functional groups with a multi-carbodiimide polymer to form the non-isocyanate polyurea polymer.

The present invention discloses a ketone-aldehyde modified resin and the preparation process thereof. The ketone-aldehyde modified resin comprises a ketone-aldehyde modified unsaturated polyester, a ketone-aldehyde modified unsaturated alkyd or the combination thereof, and wherein the said resin has ketone-aldehyde moieties. The process of the said resin comprises the steps of: reacting unsaturated polyester-forming and/or unsaturated alkyd resin-forming monomer components with a ketone-aldehyde resin. The present invention also discloses a coating composition comprising the said resin as well as a coated article. The ketone-aldehyde modified resin and the coating composition achieve significantly improved fast drying effect, while other properties are not observably impaired or even improved.

A curable resin composition includes an acetoacetyl functional unsaturated polyester with a branched molecular skeleton containing olefinically unsaturated functional groups therein and acetoacetyl functional groups chemically bonded to the branched molecular skeleton. The acetoacetyl functional unsaturated polyester contains at least 2 wt % of the olefinically unsaturated functional groups, relative to the total weight of the acetoacetyl functional unsaturated polyester, and at least 20 wt % of the acetoacetyl functional groups, relative to the total weight of the acetoacetyl functional unsaturated polyester. The curable resin composition can be used to formulate coating compositions.
