A flocculation control system that floats particles that attach to nano and/or micro bubbles out of a liquid includes at least one sensing system, at least one processing system, and at least one fluid additive control system. The at least one sensing system is configured to reproduce one or more nano-bubbles with one or more particles suspended in a fluid. The at least one processing system is configured to measure, using outputs of the at least one sensing system, incident angles between the one or more nano-bubbles and the one or more particles suspended in the fluid. And the at least one fluid additive control system is configured to adjust, based on at least the incident angles, an amount of a surfactant being added to the fluid.

A method for automatically identifying and localizing anatomical regions of a left ventricle of a heart using a segment model, the method including receiving a volumetric MR image series of one or more time-points in a heart cycle with associated myocardial boundaries, representing the heart, performing a long-axis partitioning on each image of the volumetric image series, performing a short-axis partitioning volumetric image series, generating a polar map, wherein each image of the volumetric image series is mapped to a location on the polar map, wherein the location is characterized using the long-axis partitioning and the short-axis partitioning, and generating a mapping from the polar map to a voxel in an associated image of the volumetric image series representing an anatomical location.

A method for segmenting a target image includes receiving the target image of an anatomical structure, registering a plurality of atlases to the target image, each of the atlases including an image and a plurality of labels corresponding to portions of the image, selecting a plurality of registered atlases, transferring the labels of selected registered atlases to the target image, combining the labels that are transferred to the target image using a fusion of a discriminative model and a generative model, and outputting a segmentation of the target image isolating the anatomical structure, wherein a segmentation of the target image is displayed.

Segmentation using hybrid discriminative generative label fusion of multiple atlases

A control system for a froth flotation system receives inputs from one or more sensors comprising images of a fluid having bubbles and particles therein; some of the bubbles are attached to some of the particles and suspended in the fluid. For at least some of the bubbles with attached particles, it is determined from the inputs at least two contact angles at different locations at which the respective bubble is attached to the particle. These contact angles are used to predict a process improvement by which bubbles would more efficiently float the particles out of the fluid, as compared to that represented by the input images. An output is then provided for driving a graphical display screen, the output comprising at least one of: a) a graphical representation of the determined at least two contact angles; and b) a graphical representation of the predicted process improvement.

System and method for characterizing NANO/MICRO bubbles for particle recovery

A travel reporter system is used to report abnormal travel events. In use, a sensor mounted on a vehicle obtains real-time data about an object near the vehicle. The object has an object type which is identified by processing the real-time data with an object recognition subsystem of the travel reporter system. An event evaluation subsystem of the travel reporter system processes the real-time data and the object type in order to determine that the object is associated with an abnormal travel event. The abnormal travel event has an event type which is processed by an event notification subsystem of the travel reporter system in order to select a first information consumer type. The event notification subsystem reports the abnormal travel event to information consumers having the first information consumer type.
