A gimbal includes a control device configured to receive an action instruction including a press action instruction and, based on the action instruction, generate a control instruction including a switch control instruction for switching operating modes of the gimbal, a controlling assembly configured to receive the control instruction and generate a performing instruction based on the control instruction for controlling an optical device, and a performing assembly configured to receive and implement the performing instruction. The performing assembly is operably connected to the controlling assembly and supported on a top end of a support arm of the control device. The performing assembly comprises a first rotation member, a second rotation member, and a carrying member connected one to another, and first and second motors for driving the second rotation member and the carrying member to rotate relative to the first and second rotation members, respectively.

Control device for a gimbal and method of controlling the same

A lens bracket assembly for supporting an imaging device. The imaging device includes a body and a lens connected to the body. The lens bracket assembly includes a mounting plate, a supporting plate configured for carrying the imaging device, and a bracket. The mounting plate includes a first surface and two inner sidewalls extended from two opposing ends of the first surface along a direction substantially perpendicular to the first surface. The two inner sidewalls provide first sliding slots. The supporting plate includes a first side and two outer sidewalls providing second sliding slots, and is slidably disposed on the mounting plate with the second sliding slots matching the first sliding slots at corresponding positions. The bracket is coupled to the first side of the supporting plate, and includes a shape that matches the lens of the imaging device.

Lens bracket assembly and gimbal used therewith

A gimbal for controlling an optical device includes a control device and a controlling assembly. The control device is configured to receive an action instruction and generate a control instruction based on the action instruction. The action instruction includes a press action instruction, and the control instruction includes a switch control instruction for switching the gimbal from a first operating mode to a second operating mode. The first operating mode and the second operating mode cause different relative movements between the gimbal and the optical device. The controlling assembly is configured to receive the control instruction from the control device and generate a performing instruction based on the control instruction for controlling the optical device.

An apparatus for supporting a payload includes a payload mount configured to be coupled to the payload to secure the payload, a first support member coupled to one side of the payload mount in a single arm configuration and including a first actuation unit configured to rotate the payload mount around a first rotational axis relative to the first support member, and a single flexible member including a branched configuration. The branched configuration includes at least a first end that is electrically coupled to the payload mount and a second end that is electrically coupled to the first actuation unit.

The lens bracket assembly includes a supporting plate and a bracket. The supporting plate is used for mounting the imaging device, and the supporting plate includes a first side. The bracket includes a supporting portion of which the shape matches the lens of the imaging device and a fixing portion connected with the supporting portion. The fixing portion is fixedly arranged at the first side. The supporting portion is used for supporting the lens. The present disclosure further relates to a gimbal that uses the lens bracket assembly.

A gimbal for controlling an optical device includes a rocker and a controlling assembly. The rocker is configured to receive an action instruction and generate a control instruction based on the action instruction. The action instruction includes a long press when a rocker handle of the rocker is deviated from a middle position, and the control instruction includes a back-to-middle control instruction instructing the rocker handle to return to the middle position. The controlling assembly is configured to receive the control instruction from the rocker, and generate a performing instruction based on the control instruction for controlling the optical device.

An apparatus for supporting a payload includes a first support member coupled to the payload and a flexible member configured to be electrically coupled to the first support member and the payload. The payload is configured to rotate around a first rotational axis relative to the first support member. In one aspect, an apparatus for supporting a payload comprises: a first support member coupled to the payload and configured to rotate the payload; a second support member coupled to the first support member and configured to rotate the first support member relative to the second support member; and a flexible member electrically coupling the first and second support members, wherein a length of the flexible member winds around a portion of the first support member or second support member, such that the length winds up around the portion when the first support member is rotated in a first direction and unwinds from the portion when the first support member is rotated in a second direction.

The rocker comprises a keypad for switching between two or more operating modes of the gimbal. The operating modes of the gimbal comprise (1) a follow mode in which a shooting direction of the optical device follows a moving direction of the gimbal and (2) a locked mode in which the shooting direction of the optical device is locked in a specified direction regardless of movement of the gimbal. The gimbal further includes a controlling assembly configured to (1) receive the control instruction from the rocker, and (2) generate, based on the control instruction, a performing instruction for controlling the optical device.

The present invention discloses a controlling device, a gimbal on which the controlling device is applied and a method for controlling a gimbal. The gimbal, for controlling an optical device to perform an action, may comprise a controlling device, a controlling assembly connected with the controlling device, and a performing assembly connected with the controlling assembly; wherein the controlling device may comprise a rocker for receiving an action instruction and generating a control instruction to be sent to the controlling assembly, the rocker may comprise a rocker handle and a potentiometer assembly connected with the rocker handle; the controlling assembly may be configured for generating a performing instruction for implementing a corresponding action according to the control instruction sent by the controlling device, and send the performing instruction to the performing assembly; the performing assembly may be configured for implementing a directional control for the optical device according to the performing instruction. The gimbal according to the present invention is easy to operate and has a good hand feeling, since the rocker is utilized to send the control instruction.
