In a method for handling sheet goods, in particular value documents, such as bank notes, in an apparatus for processing sheet goods, such as a bank-note machine, sheet goods are removed from a container for sheet goods that is inserted in the apparatus, through an output opening of the container, checked for further processability, and in the case of a negative check result returned into the container through an input opening of the container that is separate from the output opening. The container has a pressing device for exerting a pressure on the sheet goods in the direction of the output opening, wherein the pressing device is displaceable along the height of the container such that sheet goods are both outputtable from a sheet-goods region of the container through the output opening and inputtable back into the sheet-goods region through the input opening.

Method for handling sheet material

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for accepting or dispensing or returning bank notes. An operator wishing to remove bank notes protruding from the apparatus for dispensing or returning, is assisted during removal in that the bank notes are transported towards the operator by the apparatus as soon as the operator grasps the bank notes and starts pulling or moving them out of the apparatus.

Apparatus and method for accepting or dispensing bank notes

The invention relates to an apparatus for accepting and dispensing or returning bank notes, including a pocket which is dividable by means of a dividing element into two areas for inputting and dispensing or returning bank notes, wherein the dividing element can be moved within the pocket in order to form the two areas, with a clamping element which can be moved within the pocket independently from the dividing element, in order to clamp bank notes disposed in the pocket inside the pocket and to transport them, wherein for clamping bank notes the clamping and transport element is moved in a first direction within the pocket on top of bank notes disposed in the pocket, and transports bank notes to be dispensed or returned out of the area of the dividing element at least for the most part. The dividing element is subsequently moved out of the area of the bank notes disposed in the pocket within the pocket past the clamping and transport element in a second direction that is contrary to the first direction.

Apparatus for accepting and dispensing banknotes

The invention relates to an apparatus for accepting and dispensing or returning bank notes, including an apparatus having a pocket for accepting and dispensing or returning bank notes, which is dividable by means of a dividing element into two areas for inputting and dispensing or returning bank notes, wherein the dividing element consists of at least two non-interconnected parts which can be moved together within the pocket in order to form the two areas. Each part of the dividing element is movably arranged on a respectively opposite side wall of the pocket, as well as at least one clamping element which is disposed between the parts of the dividing element and can be moved within the pocket independently from the dividing element, in order to clamp bank notes disposed in the pocket inside the pocket.

Apparatus for accepting and dispensing bank notes

Apparatus for singling sheet material, in particular bank notes, which is inputted into an input area of the apparatus as a stack and is transported up to a singler, which transfers individual pieces of sheet material of the stack of sheet material to a sheet transport system, which transports the singled sheet material in a transport direction, a sensor disposed in transport direction upstream of the singler, which substantially extends over the width of the input area, generating signals which specify whether and in which area of the width of the input area the sheet material is present, and a control device evaluating the signals of the sensor during a transport of the stack of sheet material to the singler and comparing occurring fluctuations and changes of the signals of the sensor regarding the presence or absence of sheet material with predetermined threshold values for fluctuations and changes of the signals of the sensor, in order to derive a statement from the occurring fluctuations and changes of the signals of the sensor, whether the pieces of sheet material forming the stack of sheet material are aligned to each other with respect to their edges, and whether the stack of sheet material has an alignment which substantially is in parallel to the transport direction of the transport system.
