The subject of the invention is a glass-, ceramic-vitroceramic based substrate () provided on at least part of at least one of its faces with a coating () with a photocatalytic property containing at least partially crystalline titanium oxide. It also relates to the applications of such a substrate and to its method of preparation.

Substrate with a photocatalytic coating

A substrate includes a fibrous material in the form of mineral wool of insulation type and/or glass fibers of reinforcement type, and a coating provided over at least a portion of a surface of the fibrous material, the coating having photocatalytic properties and including at least partially crystallized semiconductor material which has photocatalytic properties and which is of the oxide or sulphide type, and a bonding agent configured to adhere fibers of the fibrous material to each other, the bonding agent including an adhesion promoting agent configured to promote the adhesion of the coating to the fibrous material. The bonding agent is selected from one of an adhesive agent for mineral wool, a sizing agent for reinforcing threads, a bonding agent for a mat or web obtained from reinforcement threads, and an adhesive agent for a web obtained from glass wool.

The present invention provides a process for a producing a coating float-glass substrate, comprising chemical vapor depositing at least one titanium precursor on at least part of at least one face of a float-glass substrate produced in a float-bath chamber, to produce a photocatalytic coating containing at least partially crystalline titanium oxide.

The present invention is directed to a process for obtaining a substrate provided with a coating having photocatalytic properties, wherein the coating includes crystallized particles of an oxide of a metal A having photocatalytic properties. The crystallized particles are incorporated into the coating using a mineral binder comprising at least one oxide of a metal B also having photocatalytic properties in the crystallized state. The coating optionally includes at least oxide of a metal M devoid of photocatalytic properties and/or at least one silicon compound of the silicon oxide SiO type. The coating is deposited from liquid-phase dispersions containing the crystallized particles of the oxide of metal A and at least one precursor compound for the oxide of metal B of the binder and optionally a precursor compound for the oxide of metal M and for the Si compound, in a relative proportion A/(B&plus;M&plus;Si) by weight of the metals and Si ranging between 60/40 and 40/60. The present invention is also directed to substrates containing a photocatalytic coating and to liquid-phase dispersions which are used in the preparation of the photocatalytic coatings.

The invention relates to a substrate provided, on at least a portion of one of its faces, with a coating with a photocatalytic property based on titanium dioxide which is at least partially crystalline and which is incorporated in the said coating partly in the form of particles predominantly crystallized in the anatase form. A composition for coating can be made by mixing a fluoroalkoxysilane containing an alkoxy moiety directly bonded to a silicon atom, an aqueous solvent system, and a catalyst. The composition can be used to form a hydrophobic and oleophobic layer on a substrate.
