The present invention relates to the use of a compound of formula (I): in which R1, R2 and R3 independently denote: &#x2014;a group of formula (II), or &#x2014;a hydrogen atom H, it being understood that at least one of the radicals R1, R2, R3 denotes a group of formula (II); and also the salts thereof, the solvates thereof, and/or the isomers thereof, for preventing and/or cosmetically treating the signs of skin aging.

The present invention relates to a cosmetic and/or dermatological composition comprising in a physiologically acceptable medium at least one merocyanine derivative of formula (1) or (2) and/or its E,E-, E,Z- or Z,Z-geometrical isomer forms: comprising specific polar groups consisting of hydroxyl- and ether-functionalities.
