A wireless repeater system includes an antenna configured to receive a magnetic wake-up signal, a near field communication (NFC) receiver configured to receive a wake-up pattern and compare the received wake-up pattern with a stored wake-up pattern, and an NFC transmitter configured to transmit an output magnetic signal using the stored wake-up pattern to an external device, wherein the transmission of the output magnetic signal is synchronized with the received wake-up pattern to form a superimposed magnetic signal.

NFC repeater system

Near-field communications (NFC) with NFC reader devices are facilitated. In accordance with one or more embodiments, an apparatus includes a NFC circuit that wirelessly communicates with different types of local NFC readers using an NFC protocol, a host circuit having one or more modules that communicate with one of the types of local NFC readers via the NFC circuit, and second (e.g., secure) modules that respectively communicate with a specific one of the different types of local NFC readers, also via the NFC circuit, using secure data stored within the second module. A routing circuit is responsive to an NFC communication received from a specific one of the NFC readers, by identifying one of the first and second modules that communicates with the specific one of the NFC readers, and routing NFC communications between the specific one of the NFC readers and the identified one of the modules.

Near-field communications and routing

Various embodiments relate to an apparatus and associated method for a contactless front-end (CLF) managing a secure element (SE). When the SE receives a low power, a monitoring circuit in the CLF may monitor a power supplied to the SE. Upon detection of an under-voltage condition, the monitoring circuit may cause a management module in the CLF to react to the detected under-voltage condition with an SE management technique. The management module may enact the SE management technique through a separate communications interface connected to the SE. In some embodiments, the CLF may further comprise a register that maintains an under-voltage flag that is triggered when the monitoring circuit detects an under-voltage condition. The management module may reset the under-voltage flag and may use the triggering of the under-voltage flag one or more times to determine whether to react through use of a SE management technique.

Management of secure element deadlock

Embodiments of a method and system are disclosed. One embodiment is a method for controlling operations in a mobile communication device that is enabled for near field communication (NFC). The method involves starting an NFC service in the mobile communication device, starting an initialization process of a secure element (SE), e.g., a Universal Integrated Circuit Card (UICC), of the mobile communication device in response to starting the NFC service, and once the initialization process of the SE has begun, monitoring an SE-specific session ID for an indication of the status of the initialization process of the SE. If the SE-specific session ID indicates that the initialization process is not complete, the method involves continuing to monitor the SE-generated session ID and if the SE-specific session ID indicates that the initialization process is complete, the method involves notifying the NFC service that the initialization process of the SE is complete.
