Systems, methods, and computer readable media, of which the method includes calculating strains, stresses, or both resulting from pressure changes in a subterranean volume using a geomechanical model, determining one or more local correlations between pressure changes and changes in permeability, porosity, or both in the subterranean volume using the calculated strains and stresses, generating one or more compaction tables for the subterranean volume using the local correlations, calculating pressure changes in the subterranean volume by simulating fluid flow in the subterranean volume using a reservoir model, and modifying the reservoir model using the one or more compaction tables and the calculated pressure changes.

A method of performing oilfield operations at a wellsite is disclosed. The wellsite is positioned about a subterranean formation having a wellbore therethrough and a fracture network therein. The fracture network includes natural fractures. The method involves generating fracture parameters including a hydraulic fracture network based on wellsite data including a mechanical earth model, generating reservoir parameters including a reservoir grid based on the wellsite data and the generated fracture wellsite parameters, forming a finite element grid from the fracture and reservoir parameters by coupling the hydraulic fracture network to the reservoir grid, generating integrated geomechanical parameters including estimated microseismic events based on the finite element grid, and performing fracture operations and production operations based on the integrated geomechanical parameters.

Method integrating fracture and reservoir operations into geomechanical operations of a wellsite

A method can include receiving mechanical information of a geologic environment and location information of natural fractures of the geologic environment; using a model of the geologic environment, calculating at least strain associated with hydraulic fracturing in the geologic environment; calculating at least microseismicity event locations based at least in part on the calculated strain; calibrating the model based at least in part on the calculated microseismicity event locations and based at least in part on measured microseismicity information associated with the geologic environment to provide a calibrated model; and, using the calibrated model, determining an increase in reactivated fracture volume associated with hydraulic fracturing in the geologic environment.

A method for generating one or more subsurface stress models. The method may include receiving seismic data. A plurality of first geomechanical property models may be generated based at least partially on the seismic data. A second geomechanical property model may be generated based at least partially on the seismic data. The second geomechanical property model may have a lower resolution than the first geomechanical property models. A stress model, a strain model, or a combination thereof may be generated based on the second geomechanical property model. One or more subsurface stress models may be generated based on the stress model, the strain model, or the combination thereof and the first geomechanical property models.
