Portable communication devices are disclosed. The devices each include a motion detector configured to measure a movement of the device relative to a neutral position of the device, an indicating unit configured to provide an indication that a current position of the device is to be set as the neutral position of the device, and a control unit configured to set the current position as the neutral position responsive to the indicating unit providing the indication. In an embodiment of the portable communication device, the control unit is further configured to associate the measured movement of the device relative to the neutral position of the device with an associated command and execute the associated command. In another embodiment of the portable communication device, the control unit is further configured to associate the measured movement of the device with an associated character and enter the associated character as an input character.

The invention relates to a portable communication equipment comprising a handset with means for transmitting and receiving radiofrequency mobile telephony signals via a cellular radiocommunication network; means for receiving radiofrequency television signals; means for displaying data corresponding to received television signals and acoustic means for reproducing sounds associated to received television signal. According to the invention, said means for receiving radiofrequency television signals comprise a tuner and demodulator located in an accessory separated from said handset and intended to be worn by a user of the handset, said accessory comprising an external metallic area intended to be in direct contact with the skin of said user and electrically linked to an input of said demodulator, and in that said equipment also comprises a transmitting link for transmitting to said handset data corresponding to received radiofrequency television signals downstream from said demodulator.

An audio device for modifying the voice transmitted during a telephone call particularly suitable for a mobile telephone system receives from the user of the audio device an analog speech signal. A converter converts the analog speech signal into a digital speech signal comprising at least one fundamental frequency. A set of coded data represents a musical score comprising a set of notes, each note being defined by a fundamental frequency, a duration, and an instrument that plays the note. A digital music signal is extracted from the set of coded data, and a first portion of the digital speech signal is mixed with a first portion of the digital music signal to produce a combined digital signal.

A telecommunication terminal receives an analog speech signal from a user of the terminal and converts the analog speech signal into a digital signal. A vocoder applies source coding to the speech signal and extracts reconstruction parameters from the speech signal. The reconstruction parameters are modified so that the transmitted voice associated with the signal is modified.

A mobile phone having a clamshell type housing includes a first part, a second part linked rotating to the first part through a hinge so that the mobile phone can be in a closed position or in an open position, a first display which is accessible to a user when the mobile phone is in the open position, a second display which is accessible to a user on an external side of the first part when the mobile phone is in the closed position, and a camera on the first part, wherein the camera is located on an internal side of the first part so that it is directed to a user of the mobile phone when the mobile phone is in the open position for capturing images and/or videos which are displayed on the first display, and the second part includes an opening through which the camera can capture images and/or videos when the mobile phone is in the closed position that are displayed on the second display.

The disclosure relates to a method for entering commands and/or characters for a portable communication device equipped with an input device comprising a tilt sensor, including the steps of determining a motion of the portable communication device through measurements of the tilt sensor calculated in reference to a neutral position of said tilt sensor; and deducing from said motion an associated command and/or character. According to the disclosure, the method further includes a preliminary calibration step triggered by a user of the portable communication device, consisting in defining the neutral position as being the current position of the sensor at the time of triggering the calibration step.
