Systems and methods are described herein for a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) activating and/or deactivating user equipment (UE)/WTRU-provided data network (UPDN). The WTRU may advertise availability of UPDN a (e.g., 5G) network. A UPDN software application may be transferred onto and/or installed on a WTRU to implement a UPDN. A WTRU may be authenticated and/or authorized to a host for a given UPDN instance, UPDN installation and/or update may be configured if an authentication fails because a UPDN software application is not up-to-date and/or not installed. A WTRU may provide information to a service provider for installing UPDN and/or update UPDN software. Control connectivity and/or path selection for UPDN may be configured by one or more WTRU route selection policy (URSP) rules. A UPDN profile and/or UPDN subscription profile may be configured in a system (e.g., 5G system (5GS)). UPDN may be provisioned in a (e.g., 5G) network.

User equipment/wireless transmit/receive unit-provided data networks on WTRUS

A wireless transmit/receive unit, WTRU, connects to a first AP, receives domain identifiers, requests corresponding descriptors and receives a list of descriptors. An application on the WTRU requests a list of domains and attributes corresponding to service names or service sets, which is returned by the WTRU. The application selects one or more domains for communications, the WTRU selects corresponding network resources and the application connects to local services. After moving to a new location, the WTRU connects to a second AP and receives a second set of domain identifiers, selects the one matching the request from the application and provides these to the application that, with the aid of the WTRU connects to local services.

Methods and devices for handling virtual domains

Procedures, methods, architectures, apparatuses, systems, devices, and computer program products that may be implemented in wireless communications. In one representative method, the WTRU may send one or more age of information (AoI) preferences for a traffic flow to a network entity, and the WTRU may receive one or more AoI rules for the traffic flow from the network entity. The WTRU may receive a packet associated with the traffic flow, and the received packet may include an indication of AoI of the packet. The WTRU may send one or more additional AoI preferences to the network entity, such as upon determining that any of the AoI preferences and/or AoI rules are not satisfied based on the indication of AoI. The indication of AoI may correspond to a processing state of the packet along a path in a network and/or to a time since the packet was created.

Methods, architectures, apparatuses and systems for age aware services

Method, systems, and devices for transparent relocatable application instance deployment are described. A method performed by a Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit may comprise transmitting, to a Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) system, a first message including a request to deploy the relocatable application instance at a target. The method may comprise receiving a second message including an indication to establish communication with the application instance and a Transparent Instance Relocation Session Identifier (TIRSI) and establishing, based on the second message, communication with the relocatable application instance at the target. The method may comprise transmitting a third message including a request for relocation of the application instance to another target. The method may comprise receiving a fourth message including an indication to establish communication with a relocated application instance at the another target and the TIRSI and establishing, based on the fourth message, communication with the relocated application instance at the another target.

Transparent relocation of MEC application instances between 5G devices and MEC hosts

Methods and apparatuses for enabling multi-host multipath secure transport with Quick User Datagram Protocol (UDP) Connections (QUIC) are described herein. A method performed by a client endpoint may involve sending, to a network node, a request to establish a QUIC connection with a destination endpoint, the request to establish the QUIC connection including a flow identifier (ID). The method may involve receiving, from the network node, a response including an indication that the request to establish the QUIC connection with the destination endpoint is accepted. The method may involve encapsulating inner QUIC packetized data within outer QUIC packetized data, the inner QUIC packetized data including the flow ID. The method may involve sending, to the network node, the outer QUIC packetized data for forwarding toward the destination endpoint based on the flow ID.

Methods and apparatuses for enabling multi-host multipath secure transport with QUIC

Systems and methods for enabling proximity services to be delivered as part of an application service and/or for providing tailored services and/or a differential quality of service (QoS) to a flow may be disclosed. For example, a temporary service name between an application and a server such as a D2D server may be established such that a UE and/or network may execute such a service at a later time without later involvement by the application and/or without exchanging credentials for the application with the network and vice versa.

Systems and methods for personalizing and/or tailoring a service interface

Methods, systems, and instrumentalities are described to obtain application-based connectivity. A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may, in response to a request to access a connectivity-sponsored application, establish a control connection over a first access network for contacting an application connectivity coordinator. The establishment of control connection may include sending an attach request, receiving an IP address for a control link to the application connectivity coordinator, and receiving an IP address. Using the control connection, the WTRU may send an access network discovery request to the application connectivity coordinator. The WTRU may receive, from the application connectivity coordinator, a list of access networks. The WTRU may select a second access network from the list of access networks to access the connectivity-sponsored application.

Connectivity augmented services architecture, discovery and connection

A method and apparatus are described for synchronizing mobile station (i.e., wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU)) media flows during a collaboration session. Inter-WTRU transfer request messages, flow addition request messages and session update request messages may be exchanged between a plurality of WTRUs and a session continuity control application server (SCC-AS). Each of the messages may include a session description protocol (SDP) attribute line containing time synchronization information (e.g., a presentation time offset (PTO) information element (IE), a media flow group identity (ID) and a synchronization tolerance IE). The SCC-AS may update the time synchronization information and include the updated information in messages it sends to the WTRUs, which may re-synchronize their respective media flows based on the updated time synchronization information.

Method and apparatus for synchronizing mobile station media flows during a collaborative session

Method and apparatus for inter-device transfer (handoff) between IMS and generic IP clients

In an embodiment, a method for use in a network storage control peer (NSCP) supporting P2P operation includes receiving swarm stats from a tracker; determining, based on the received swarm stats, a P2P rarity associated with a content piece; and responsive to the determined P2P rarity, transmitting an upload request message to an ingestion gateway, wherein the upload request message indicates that the content piece is to be uploaded to a CDN.

A method and apparatus for generating a topology for wireless peer-to-peer (P2P) networks. A network architecture comprises a traffic optimization service including a traffic optimization server and an adaptor to effect bi-directional translation of a request-response protocol of the traffic optimization service and a signaling protocol of a multimedia network. The traffic optimization server stores information related to wireless communication systems comprising user/location id information including cache proxies, media gateways, and network peers of multiple access networks and cost metric information including maximum bit rate, guaranteed bit rate, storage capacity, CPU capabilities, number of clients serving, battery capabilities, reliability of path, and supported video/audio codec.

Wireless peer-to-peer network topology

An application server receives a request for service from a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) associated with a home network that includes a home subscriber server (HSS) and a bootstrapping server function (BSF) coupled via a Zh reference point. The application server authenticates the WTRU at least in part by (i) redirecting the WTRU to an identity provider co-located with a network application function (IDP/NAF) and coupled to the BSF via a Zn reference point and (ii) receiving an assertion from the WTRU that the IDP/NAF has authenticated the WTRU based on user security settings retrieved from the BSF by the IDP/NAF over the Zn reference point. After authenticating the WTRU, the application server (i) retrieves user-specific Sh-reference-point-type data from the HSS via the IDP/NAF over the Zn and Zh reference points and (ii) provides the service to the WTRU based on the retrieved user-specific Sh-reference-point-type data.

Method and apparatus for enabling access to applications integrated with a visited network

A method of Inter-User Equipment (UE) Transfer (IUT) for use in an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) capable wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the method comprising: receiving, at the IMS capable WTRU, an IUT session transfer command from a non-IMS capable WTRU via non-IMS signaling; translating, at the IMS capable WTRU, the IUT session transfer command to an IMS based message; and transmitting, from the IMS capable WTRU, the translated IMS based message to a Service Centralization and Continuity Application Server (SCC AS).

Techniques for inter-user equipment (UE) transfer (IUT) are disclosed. An application server may receive an IUT request for transfer of a media session toward at least one initial UE such that the media session is to be played by at least two target UEs. The server may determine eligibility for IUT with group synchronization based on the request. The server may send a message to the initial UE that IUT with group synchronization is not allowed on a condition that IUT with group synchronization is not allowed. Further, the server may trigger inter-destination media synchronization (IDMS) for group synchronization of media sessions among the UEs on a condition that IUT with group synchronization is allowed. The media sessions may include a first media session and second media session. The media stream may be played by at least two UEs that are geographically separated after the transfer.
