The invention is directed to an ironing shoe with a fastening device for fastening and releasing the fastener of a pressing surface of an electric steam iron, with a soleplate base having soleplate openings for the discharge of steam, the underside of which is used for ironing the article needing to be ironed and the upper side of which has disposed thereon an insert arrangement having insert openings for the passage of steam from the steam iron to the soleplate openings. In order to improve the utility characteristics of the ironing shoe and in particular of the insert arrangement, it is proposed providing the insert arrangement with a capillary layer made of a moisture-absorbing material on the side close to the upper side of the soleplate base, and with an impermeable layer on the side close to the steam iron.

Ironing shoe and electric steam iron

The invention is directed to a piston pump for a steam iron, including a pump housing (10) provided in a housing bore (12) for receiving an axially movable piston (14), said piston (14) combining with the housing bore (13) to form a pressure generating chamber (13) connected with at least two outlets (16, 18) for at least two liquid consuming devices and with an inlet (20), said piston (14) further including a distributor bore (28) in which a distributor element (26) is rotatably mounted which includes at least one conduit (30, 32) with an inlet port (34, 36), through which conduit, in dependence upon the rotary position of the distributor element (26), one of the liquid consuming devices is supplied with pumped liquid through a connecting conduit (44) communicating with the pressure generating chamber (13). To provide a piston pump sealing tightly and being producible to more lenient manufacturing tolerances, it is proposed providing the distributor element (26) with a separate conduit (30, 32) having each an inlet port (34, 36) for each liquid consuming device, and providing a seal (40) which seals the inlet ports (34, 36) relative to each other and is adapted to be acted upon by a compressive force to effect a seal.

Steam iron with pump mechanism

A hand blender powered by an electric motor, for mixing or comminuting foodstuffs in a container, includes a working shaft having an output end, a processing tool attached to the output end of the working shaft, a shaft housing which carries the working shaft, and a bell-shaped casing enclosing the processing tool. The bell-shaped casing has a lower chamber, a lower end bounded by an aperture, and a plurality of lateral openings for the discharge of foodstuffs. A cover plate within the bell-shaped casing forms a fluid-tight seal between the lower chamber and an inner chamber of the shaft housing. The hand blender also includes an air supply structure through which outside air is supplied to the lower chamber of the bell-shaped casing when the bell-shaped casing is immersed in the foodstuffs. The air supply structure includes a flow channel with an inlet side which communicates with the outside air and an outlet side which communicates with the lower chamber of the bell-shaped casing.
