A heating member for a vehicle exhaust gas purification device includes an electrically conductive outer peripheral frame that has a geometric center and is symmetrical about an axis. An electrically conductive central support is centered on the geometric center, and a perforated heating grid is centered on the geometric center. The heating grid extends between the electrically conductive central support and the electrically conductive outer peripheral frame. The heating grid is formed of a plurality of strands connected by nodes, with the plurality of strands delimiting openings therebetween.

A heater may include: a conductive ceramic cylinder tube in which cell-arrays are concentrically arranged, each cell-array including cells which are arranged in a circumferential direction of the ceramic cylinder tube; an inner electrode electrically coupled to an inner wall portion of the ceramic cylinder tube; and an outer electrode electrically coupled to an outer wall portion of the ceramic cylinder tube. A heater includes: a conductive ceramic cylinder tube provided with a plurality of cells, each cell being defined by a pair of first cell-walls and a pair of second cell-walls, each first cell-wall extending in a radial direction of the ceramic cylinder tube, and each second cell-wall extending so as to cross the radial direction of the ceramic cylinder tube; an inner electrode electrically coupled to an inner wall of the ceramic cylinder tube; and an outer electrode electrically coupled to an outer wall of the ceramic cylinder tube. A purification method comprises providing a purification device comprising at least one exhaust gas purification member having an upstream surface through which the exhaust gas enters the purification member and a downstream surface through which the exhaust gases exit the purification member. A device includes a power source, at least one exhaust gas purification member having an upstream face and a downstream face, and a heating member placed in front of and at a distance from the upstream or downstream face. The heating member comprises a frame and a plurality of elongate heating elements surrounded by a peripheral part of the frame. Each heating element has first and second ends, with at least one of the first and second ends being electrically connected to the power source with the other end being connected to the frame. Each heating element is, between the first and second ends, connected only to at least one other of the heating elements. The heating elements are in contact with one another by respective points of contact, two points of contact of two different heating elements in contact with one another being at the same electric potential.

Exhaust gas purification device and corresponding control process

An ammonia generating device is used for the treatment of exhaust gases of internal combustion engines, particularly for motor vehicles. The device includes a tank having a body capable of releasing ammonia by desorption. The device is also provided with a first single connection member comprising an electrical connection to supply the device with electricity and a fluid connection to allow evacuation of the ammonia produced following the desorption reaction.

A device for storing and supplying ammonia to an exhaust line of an automobile vehicle, includes a solid material provided for absorbing the ammonia, a reservoir for storing the solid material, and a heating unit to heat the solid material to desorb the ammonia.
