Rail wheel

A shoe brake assembly for a rail vehicle including a bogie connected with the rail vehicle. The assembly also includes a wheel having a wheel web and radially inward-facing surfaces on opposite sides of the wheel web. Also included are at least two brake pads adjacent respective radially inward-facing surfaces of the wheel and a pendulum suspension arrangement connecting the at least two brake pads to the bogie. The assembly further includes an operating device configured to move the at least two brake pads via the pendulum suspension essentially radially against respective radially inward-facing surfaces of the wheel.

Elastic brake body

The invention is a brake disk and a method of producing the same. The brake disk has at least one friction ring which can be engaged by a brake shoe on at least one side. The friction ring is divided into at least two ring segments having mutually facing end areas configured to be coupled with one another adjacent a junction and separation area. A separation gap is formed between the mutually facing end areas, which mesh with one another. At least one connection device is positioned in the junction and separation area for coupling the ring segments together.

Method of making a friction ring for a brake disk

A monitoring system for brake disks, particularly of rail vehicles, having at least two sensors which are arranged in the brake disk or in the proximity of the brake disk and whose sensor signals relate to the temperature of the brake disk. The monitoring system includes at least one transmitter which transmits the sensor signals, and at least one receiver which receives the transmitted sensor signals in a wireless manner. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method of monitoring the temperature of brake disks. The method includes measuring the temperature of at least one brake disk, converting sensor signals to processible values; transmitting the values or the sensor signals to a receiver in one or more of an encoded manner and successively in a timed manner; and processing the received values or sensor signals in one or more of the control unit and the regulating unit.

Monitoring system and method for brake disks

The present invention relates to a brake pad for rail vehicles, including at least two friction material blocks and at least one holding device. The individual friction material blocks are lamellar in shape and are connected to one another along their longitudinal sides to form a brake pad. The connection is constructed such that the individual friction material blocks may be displaced with respect to one another. The present invention also relates to a rail vehicle brake including at least one brake shoe, a friction material block holding device, a power unit having a carrier body and a connection device connecting the power unit to the at least one brake shoe.

Multi-disc brake pad

The invention is a brake disk. The brake disk has at least one friction ring which can be engaged by a brake shoe on at least one side. The friction ring is divided into at least two ring segments having mutually facing end areas configured to be coupled with one another adjacent a junction and separation area. Friction ring for a brake disc

The invention relates to a braking body for a rail car, especially a brake block or disk brake pad, comprising a supporting body with recesses and friction material elements arranged in the recesses. The friction material elements form a friction surface with the supporting body and are mounted with elastic or tilting elements such that the frictional material elements can move in the longitudinal direction of the recesses and adapt themselves to the running surface of a rail wheel.

Elastic braking body

The invention relates to a brake lining mounting, especially for rail vehicles, comprising a lining support which is encompassed at both of its longitudinal ends by guide sections, preferably at least partially by the plates of a lining holder which holds the friction lining. A pin is provided on the lining support and is able to move perpendicularly to the lining support. When the pin is placed under spring tension as the lining holder is pushed up onto the lining support, the pin extends through an opening provided in the lining holder in such a way that the lining holder is stopped on the lining support by this single pin and cannot move in relation to the lining support. At least one spring in the form of a spring clip acts on the pin. The spring clip can be moved into a raised release position against the force of its own tension, carrying the pin with it. The pin is thus released from its engagement with the opening in the lining holder in such a way that when the pin is in its release position, the lining holder can be pushed away from the lining support.

Brake lining mounting, especially for rail vehicles

In a brake disk for rail vehicle brake systems, a friction ring is made of a light metal such as aluminum (aluminum alloys), etc. to reduce weight. In order to reduce the weight further by approximately an additional 10%, the hub that supports the friction ring and is connected with the shaft of the rail vehicle is also made of light metal, such as aluminum. It is necessary to keep the temperature of such hubs below 120-140.degree. C. to prevent the shrink or press fit between the hub and shaft from loosening. To prevent such heat transmission, heat insulating layers are inserted between the inner circumference of the friction ring connected with the hub preferably by bolts. In the vicinity of the bolts, these layers can consist of insulating disks, insulating plates, or continuous insulating rings.

Brake lining for partial-lining disc brakes

A brake disk includes a ring body in a ring groove on a side of a friction ring which is not acted upon for connecting the mutually opposite ends of friction ring segments with one another. The ring bodies prevent an expanding of the juncture caused by centrifugal force as well as a radial relative displacement of the ends of the ring segments, while a limited relative rotation of the faces of the ring segments is possible when an air gap exists at the juncture.

Brake disk for wheel disk brakes

In a disk brake actuated preferably hydraulically, a piston (5) is guided within a housing located in a caliper. When pressure is applied, the piston acts in such a manner against a brake shoe (15) bearing a brake lining (17) that the brake shoe (15) is pressed with its brake lining against the brake disk to be braked. The side of the piston facing the brake shoe has a pressure plate (13) which transmits the pressure forces and which moves transversely within its recess in the piston (5). The pressure plate (13) is mounted on the end of a tappet (25) extending axially inside the piston (5) and bracing itself at the end opposite the pressure plate by a disk (27) at the bottom (29) of the bore (31) accommodating the tappet, and is surrounded by a prestressed compression spring (37). Lateral movements of the pressure plate (13) cause tipping of the tappet (25) and, as a consequence thereof, a reset force exerted by the compression spring (37 ) on the tappet (25) and, thus, on the pressure plate (13). This reset force can be precisely defined by use of a threaded ring (39) whose position can be changed and which braces one end of the compression spring (37).
