The disclosure relates to a fuel injection valve that includes a valve needle, a closing spring applying a spring force to the valve needle, which spring force loads the valve needle in the direction of a closing position, and an actuator assembly. A coil of the actuator assembly produces a magnetic force on a magnet armature of the actuator assembly such that, as the magnet armature travels toward a pole piece of the actuator assembly, the magnet armature covers an idle stroke to a stop element of the valve needle and then carries the valve needle toward the pole piece. A spring constant of the closing spring and the magnetic force are matched such that the magnitude of the resultant force of the spring force and the magnetic force decreases with increasing distance of the valve needle from the closing position and remains the same with increasing the distance.

Fuel injection valve

The present disclosure relates to fluid injection and the teachings thereof may be embodied in an injector. Some embodiments include an injector comprising: a valve with a valve body and a valve needle; an armature mechanically coupled to the valve needle for moving the valve needle away from a closing position; and a damping element. The valve needle moves in the valve body and seals the valve. The armature displaces the valve needle away from the closing position. The damping element comprises: a hydraulic chamber and a piston arranged to modify a fluid volume of the hydraulic chamber. The piston reduces the fluid volume of the hydraulic chamber when the valve needle moves away from the closing position. A flow restricting orifice hydraulically connects the hydraulic chamber to the cavity.

Fluid injector

A pump unit includes a pump housing having a low-pressure inlet and a high-pressure outlet. A working medium is fed via the low-pressure inlet to a working chamber formed in the pump housing. The working medium is discharged from the working chamber via the high-pressure outlet. The pump unit also includes a pump piston channel formed in the pump housing and having a longitudinal axis. The pump unit has a first pump piston arranged movably along the longitudinal axis in the pump piston channel and coupled hydraulically to the working chamber. The pump unit also has a second pump piston arranged movably along the longitudinal axis in the pump piston channel and coupled hydraulically via a compensation volume to the first pump piston, wherein the compensation volume is coupled hydraulically to a compensation unit configured to adapt the compensation volume based on a pressure in the working chamber.

Pump unit for a high-pressure pump

An electromagnetic actuator includes an electromagnet having a coil, which coil surrounds a pole core, and a magnet armature, which can be moved toward the pole core by the electromagnet, wherein the magnet armature has a bearing surface facing the pole core and the pole core has a correspondingly opposite counter surface. The bearing surface and/or the counter bearing surface has a layer that prevents direct contact of the bearing surface with the counter bearing surface and that causes damping of the approaching movement.

Electromagnetic actuator, valve, and injection pump

An injector for injecting fuel into an internal combustion engine includes a drive unit accommodated in a housing and which has an armature guided in sliding manner in the housing, and includes a valve element that is axially movable in the armature relative to the armature. The valve element has a driver element for a coupling to the armature and can be moved in order to open and/or close at least one injection opening, wherein the opening movement is limited by an abutment surface. A flange-like abutment member is fixedly connected to the valve element, and is designed such that, during the opening of the at least one injection opening, a first hydraulic damping layer is formed between said abutment member and the abutment surface, and during the closing of the at least one injection opening, a second hydraulic damping layer is formed between said abutment member and the armature.
